Tato práce se zabývá fenoménem veřejných sbírek jakožto jedním ze zdrojů financování škod, způsobených povodněmi. Cílem bylo zodpovědět tyto otázky: proč dnešní společnost ještě potřebuje veřejné sbírky, v čem může neziskový sektor "konkurovat" sektoru veřejnému, a jaká jsou pozitiva a negativa financování povodňových škod veřejnými sbírkami. Porovnávána byla zejména rychlost reakce a objem finanční pomoci veřejného a neziskového sektoru. Podklady pro odpovědi byly získány na základě praktického výzkumu, provedeného mezi subjekty, které uspořádaly po povodních 2002 veřejnou sbírku. Pro následné zpracování dat byla využita vlastní metodika hodnocení veřejných sbírek, stavící na existujících způsobech hodnocení výkonnosti neziskových organizací This bachelor work deals with the phenomenon of the public gatherings of money as one possible source of financing the damages caused by floods. The aim was to answer these questions: why today's society still needs a public gathering, in what may the non-profit sector "compete" with the public sector, and what are the pros and cons of financing flood damages by the public gatherings. There were compared particularly the quickness of reaction and the amount of financial aid of the public and nonprofit sectors. The basis for the answers consists of results of the research, held among the subjects, involved in organizing the gatherings after the floods of 2002. For subsequent data processing was used a special methodology, developed for this purpose of public gatherings, built on existing methods of evaluating the performance of nonprofit organizations.
