Tato práce je zaměřena na empirické ověření platnosti Rostowovy teorie stádií ekonomického růstu a Solow-Swanova růstového modelu, a to na statistických datech asijských zemí. Teoretická část objasňuje hlavní charakteristiky Rostowovy teorie stádií ekonomického růstu a Solow-Swanova růstového modelu. V empirické části je samotné empirické ověření na statistických datech z celkem 51 asijských států. Z tohoto počtu je 47 samostatných asijských států, 2 částečně uznané státy (Palestina a Taiwan) a 2 závislá území (Hongkong a Macao). Závěr je potom věnován specificky jen Čínské lidové republice a to zejména hodnocení jejího ekonomického vývoje včetně snahy o predikci budoucího vývoje ve vztahu k našim podnikům. The aim of this work is to verify Rostow's Stages of growth model and the Solow-Swan growth model empirically using statistical data from Asian countries. In the theoretical part ("Teoretická část"), the main characteristics of the Rostow's Stages of growth model and the Solow-Swan growth model are explained. The empirical part ("Empirická část") consists of the empirical verification based on statistical data from a total of 51 Asian countries. This includes 47 independent Asian states, 2 partially recognized states (Palestine and Taiwan) and 2 dependent territories (Hong Kong and Macao). The conclusion is devoted specifically to the People's Republic of China and in particular to the evaluation of its economic development, including efforts to predict future developments in relation to Czech businesses.
