Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat roli zahraniční politiky v rámci předvolební kampaně před americkými prezidentskými volbami v roce 2012. Na začátku práce byly stanoveny tři výzkumné otázky. Jaká je role zahraniční politiky v kampani? Jaká jsou hlavní témata? A třetí otázka si pak dává za úkol zhodnotit, ve kterých oblastech se oba kandidáti shodují a kde naopak nejsou schopni najít společné řešení daného problému. Samotný obsah práce je tvořen na základě metody obsahové a následně v poslední kapitole textové analýzy. Celá práce je rozčleněna do tří samostatných kapitol. V první kapitole bude nastíněn proces voleb amerického prezidenta a posléze prezentovány samotné výsledky voleb roku 2012. Druhá kapitola bude stručně charakterizovat historii americké zahraniční politiky a teoretické základy, na nichž je vybudována. Poslední částí pak bude vlastní analýza role zahraniční politiky v předvolební kampani obou kandidátů. The objective of this thesis lies in analyzing the role of foreign policy in the election campaign before the U.S. presidential election in 2012. At the beginning of the work were established three research questions. What is the role of foreign policy in the campaign? What are the main issues? The third question concern itself with the assessment of the areas, where both candidates agree and where they were unable to find a common solution to the problem. The actual content of the work is based on the method of content analysis and in the last chapter of textual analysis. The whole thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter will outline the process of the election of the President and then will present the election results of 2012. The second one will briefly characterize the history of U.S. foreign policy and theoretical base on which it is built. The last part will consist of analyzing the role of foreign policy in the election campaign of both candidates.
