Tato práce se zabývá mírou připravenosti České republiky na přijetí eura, a to jednak z pohledu plnění Maastrichtských konvergenčních kritérií, ale také z pohledu reálné konvergence ČR s Eurozónou. V práci jsou dále řešeny potenciální výhody a nevýhody spojené s učiněním tohoto kroku. Práce následně analyzuje dopady zavedení eura na Slovensku na jednotlivé ukazatele. Závěrem je zmíněn problém současné dluhové krize Eurozóny, která má významný vliv na rozhodování o termínu přijetí eura Českou republikou. The aim of this thesis is to analyse the preparedness of the Czech Republic to adopt the single European currency called euro. The level of preparedeness is assessed not only in terms of meeting the Maastricht convergence criteria, but also in terms of real convergence with the euro area. Subsequently, the thesis deals with potential advantages and disadvantages connected to the introduction of the single currency in the Czech republic. The thesis also analyzes the impact of the introduction of the euro on individual indicators in Slovakia. Finally, there is a mention of the current debt crisis in the eurozone, which has a significant influence on the date of adoption of the euro in the Czech republic.
