Diplomová práce se snaží stanovit rozdíly ve ?hře s jazykem? při překladu a následné úpravě pro dabing a pro titulky. Teoretická část se zabývá nejprve komparací flexivního a isolačního jazyka pro lepší pochopení, proč je obtížné překládat z anglického do českého jazyka, dále se zabývá literárním překladem, jehož postupy, metody a principy platí stejným způsobem i pro překlad filmový, a charakteristikou výroby dabingu a titulků. Následuje kapitola o vybraných překladatelských metodách. Praktická část analyzuje přístup dabované a titulkové verze k českému jazyku v jednotlivých promluvách ukázky animovaného filmu Robin Hood. Diplomová práce je zakončena srovnáním, které překladatelské metody byly v překladu pro titulky a v úpravě dialogů pro dabing skutečně využity. This diploma thesis describes the different attitude to translation for dubbing and subtitling. The theoretical part of the paper deals with comparing of the English language and the Czech language, the literary translation and the process of dubbing and subtitling as types of the film translation. Then, there is a chapter about important translation methods. The practical part of this paper is the analysis of dubbed and subtitled version. A sample of the cartoon Robin Hood film is used. At the end, the examples for the each translation method are written.
