Práce pojednává o trendech v rozvoji leadershipu. Cílem práce je pochopení toho, co se pod pojmem leadership skrývá, kdo vlastně leader je, proč by neměl být zaměňován s manažerem a přiblížení metod, jakými je možno leadership rozvíjet. Dalším cílem je částečná analýza problematiky leadershipu mezi studenty navazujících magisterských oborů na Vysoké škole ekonomické v Praze. V první kapitole je nastíněn vývoj manažerských teorií 20. století, popis osobnosti manažera a problematika manažerských kompetencí. Druhá kapitola obsahuje vybrané teorie leadershipu, na které plynule navazují styly vedení lidí. Dále je uveden rozdíl mezi manažerem a leaderem včetně problematiky moci a autority. Třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na metody rozvoje leadershipu, přičemž větší prostor je věnován metodám rozvoje pomocí druhých osob. Čtvrtá kapitola je ve své první části koncipována jako souhrn poznatků uvedených v této práci. Druhá část čtvrté kapitoly obsahuje vyhodnocení výzkumu provedeného mezi studenty VŠE. The thesis's main concerns are Trends in Leadership development. The aim of this thesis is to better understand leadership and to find out the differences between managers and leaders. The secondary aim of this thesis includes the understanding of development various leadership skills techniques. This thesis also includes survey of how students of University of Economics in Prague interpret leadership as a whole. First chapter focuses on trends in management, second chapter focuses on trends in leadership and leadership styles. Content of third chapter includes research of leadership development techniques. Fourth chapter sums the theses up and also includes the evaluation of undertaken research.
