Tato práce se věnuje objasnění rakouského přístupu k politikám centrálních bank, zejména v souvislosti se změnami ve struktuře výroby a narušováním cenového koordinačního mechanismu. Nejdříve se pokusím objasnit teoretické zákonitosti, jak je formulovali zakladatelé tohoto konceptu, jenž je znám jako teorie hospodářského cyklu, a poté tyto teoretické poznatky konfrontuji s reálnými statistickými údaji z USA v posledních letech. Tuto destinaci považuji za nejvhodnější k aplikaci zmíněné teorie, neboť předpokládám, že údaje nebudou tolik deformovány okolními ekonomikami a politika centrální banky se v reálném hospodářství výrazně projeví. Práce by měla ukázat, že teorie hospodářského cyklu díky své komplexnosti a logické struktuře dokáže plně odhalit pravé příčiny současné hospodářské krize a že i po desetiletích od její první formulace ji lze považovat za aktuální a funkční koncepci, která by měla být brána v úvahu při rozhodování o měnových otázkách. This thesis is dedicated to clarification of the Austrian approach to the central bank policies, particularly in relation to production structure changes and disruption of the price coordination mechanism. Firstly, I will try to clarify the theoretical patterns, as formulated by the founders of this concept, which is known as the Business Cycle Theory, and then I confront the theoretical knowledge with real statistical data from the U.S. in recent years. The thesis should show, that the Business Cycle Theory can thanks to its complexity and logical structure fully reveal the real causes of the recent economic crisis and that even after decades since its first formulation it can be considered as actual and functional conception, which should be taken into account when deciding on monetary issues.
