Práce se zaměřuje na ekonomický vývoj České a Slovenské republiky od roku 2000 do roku 2011. Je zde kladen důraz na vývoj před a po vstupu do Evropské unie. Analýza se zaměřuje na ekonomický růst z hlediska hrubého domácího produktu a vývoje jeho složek jako je produkce jednotlivých odvětví a konečná spotřeba domácností. Hrubý domácí produkt je vypočítáván pro rok 2011 různými metodami a pro analýzu je použit i jeho meziroční přírůstek. Dále je uveden alternativní ukazatel HDP a to reálný hrubý domácí důchod pro Českou republiku. Jeho součástí jsou směnné relace, které jsou hlavním bodem srovnávací analýzy HDP a RHDD. Analýza ukázala, že vývoj obou států je podobný z hlediska HDP a RHDD. Hlavním faktorem podílejícím se na produkci je v obou zemích zpracovatelský průmysl, který si zachovává svůj podíl na produkci na téměř stejné úrovni ve sledovaném období. Také struktura spotřeby domácností si zachovává téměř stejný ráz. RHDD se vývíjí nepravidelněji než HDP, zvláště v posledních letech. The paper examines economic growth in the Czech and Slovak Republic from 2000 to 2011. Special attention is devoted to the growth of the countries before and after joining European Union. Gross domestic product and growth of its main parts like productivity of particular sectors of economy and final consumption of households are tha main aims of the analysis. There is also mantioned an alternative index to GDP- real gross domestic income for Czech Republic. The main point of the comparative analysis of GDP and RGDI are trading gains and trading losses. The analysis has shown that the economic growth of the countries is similar. In Czech and Slovak Republic the main driving force of macroeconomic total factor productivity manufacturing industry, that has been holding almost the same share for whole reporting period. The structure of final consumption of households has been retaining almost the same character.The growth of RGDI has not been as steady as GDP, especially in the last few years.
