Seniors and their Access to Sport Activities

The thesis deals with the participation and access of seniors to the regular physical activities. The theoretical part is focused on the issue of improving the participation of inactive seniors in physical activities and also keywords are defined. The practical part presents the results of the questionnaire undertaken among seniors. There are certain shortcomings of this issue pointed out and some suggestions for possible solutions are presented. The thesis is focused on seniors in Brno and its surroundings. In the practical part these are divided into two groups. The participants of Exercise studio for seniors functioning at the University of the Third Age at Brno University of Technology are compared with the same sample of seniors from Brno and its surroundings.

This bachleor's thesis deals with creation of manual and simulator of Kodak EasyShare Z612 digital camera. The main goal of these materials is to serve as support for teaching at the university of third age . The first part of this document describes problems of digital photography and selection of appropriate technologies for implementation. The second part describes different stages of simulator creation. Achievements and possible future extensions are discussed at the end of thesis.

PANASONIC FZ7 Digital Cameras Simulator and Trainer

The Bachelor's thesis Simulator and Trainer of the Panasonic FZ7 Camera deals with a design and a realization of the training manual and the trainer for this digital camera. The application will be used to support the education at the University of the Third Age. Adobe Flash and programming language ActionScript is used for implementation. Basics of photography and application creation in Flash are described. Simulation allows trying possibilities of a device in teaching and manual explains basic usage of the camera.
Education of seniors in U3V from the perspective of lecturers

The topic of this diploma thesis is the education of seniors within the universities of the third age at Charles University in Prague from the perspective of lecturers. The thesis deals with key aspects of this topic, from a theoretical and as well practical point of view. The main goal is to understand the process of senior`s education and how it is perceived by the lecturers. The thesis describes their acquired experiences, the possibilities of developing the education of seniors and the perceived barriers in the education of this population at U3A as part of lifelong learning. The theoretical part of the thesis serves as a basic framework for understanding the issue of education for seniors. It uses professional literature to define key terms and concepts. The attention is placed on the importance of lifelong learning for seniors and on the specifics of the educational process in this context. Other chapters are focused on the lecturers themselves in connection with the didactic process and psychodidactics. They deal with the personality of the lecturer, his role and his competences. It discusses the importance of learning for the elderly population and the specifics of this educational process. The theoretical part is supplemented with data on the development of U3V at Charles University. Vývoj sociální péče a formy vzdělávaní seniorů v ČR

The presented work deals with the issue of life of seniors in the Czech Republic. There are a number of changes associated with aging that affect an individual's quality of life. These are physical, psychological and social changes that manifest themselves in all areas of an individual's life. Probably the biggest change is retirement, which is accompanied by the search for a new meaning of life. The opportunity to study can help in this regard. Seniors can use a variety of forms of further education. However, they most often look for educational activities carried out within universities of the third age. In the presented work, the relationship between the quality of life of seniors and education within U3V will be determined. For this purpose, the data of the Czech Statistical Office concerning the quality of life of seniors will be analysed and a questionnaire survey among seniors will be carried out. The aim will be to find out the difference between perception of the quality of life of seniors attending universities of the third age and seniors who do not study at the universities of the third age.
What is the motivation of the seniors to the study of the universities of the third age?

The work presented is focused on the study motivation regarding U3V. The main goal of this work is to examine the most common types of motivation of seniors in relation to the U3V study programme and to compare them with aspects which could potentially influence the overall motivation. This shall be achieved via research. Furthermore, this work is also focused on the problematic of motivation as a separate topic and as such deals with the already existing theory of motivation and attempts to use these as a learning ground for determining what the actual motivation to study the U3V programme is. This work consists of theoretical and practical parts.
The Seniors Education on University of the Third Age like a Form of Active Aging Itself

This bachelor thesis is focused on education within University of the Third Age as one of the often mentioned activities which have some positive effect on the older people within support of active aging. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to understand the of older people´s motivation to study the University of the Third Age. This thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical and empirical part. Theoretical part consists of four chapters. Chapter one is devoted to old age, aging, active aging, lifestyle and leisure time of older people. The second chapter focuses on social and intergenerational contacts and barriers in the lives of older people. The third chapter presents an overview of education of older people and their motivation to study. The fourth chapter deals with institutions that ensure education for the older people and information and communication technologies. In the second part, empirical, we will find the goal of the bachelor's thesis, which is to find out how older people are motivated to study at the University of the Third Age. In order to obtain an in-depth description of this issue, a qualitative research strategy was chosen in this bachelor's thesis. We will also find the main research question here, which is: What is the benefit of education at University of the Third Age for older people? To answer the main research question, partial research questions and other supplementary questions have been set. The semi-structured interview technique was chosen as the method of questioning for collecting necessary data. The sample consisted of older people attending the University of the Third Age in the South Bohemian Region. Based on the data obtained, the results are then analyzed. The research has found that seniors have many reasons to study at University of the Third Age, including gaining new knowledge, experience and personality development. Social contacts have a very important role for seniors, they finds new friends, with whom they spend their free time, share their life experiences and motivates each other in their personal lives and studies. The study has a positive effect on the seniors physical and mental condition. As part of the evaluation, studying for seniors brings many benefits, including strengthening memory, gaining new information and finding new leisure activities.
