Zero Waste - "Valuation and business planning" for a potential investor

The target of Zero Waste "Valuation and business planning" for a potential investor is to explore and evaluate the identified market opportunity. Business plan concerns the foundation of food and consumer goods retail business which is aimed towards reducing consumers negative impact on the environment, supporting local jobs and sustainable farming. The thesis is based on theoretical knowledge from the publications listed in the resources which were confronted with the reality in interviews with the owners of comparable businesses. Resulting from the business planning a calculation of present value of the proposed model enterprise has been made. Value calculated using discounted cash flows had shown that cannot be unequivocally recommended to establish the company. Pessimistic scenario shows a negative net present value and realistic option shows a positive net present value. However it is necessary to understand the thesis as a model business plan for valuation of such businesses. As for example with a different form of funding or reduction of initial investment, the company may change to a version that would be recommendable to implement.
Zvyšování efektivnosti crowdfundingových kampaní

The aim of this thesis is to analyze crowdfunding campaigns on Kickstarter, and contribute towards increasing the effectiveness of such campaigns, as most campaigns are unsuccessful. The theoretical part will focus on defining crowdfunding as the new phenomena of capital distribution and compared with other forms of financing new ideas. The empirical part focuses on a paired comparison analysis of campaigns from two various locations and three industries in total. Factores affecting the successfulness are analyzed and a pattern which would help towards solving the initial problem is looked for. The aim of the thesis was fulfilled by giving recommendations which have an impact on the success rate.
Start-up valuation

The thesis is focused on solving the problematic issue of how to evaluate companies at an early stage in their life cycle, or how to evaluate the start-ups. The concept of start-ups has very quickly expanded abroad, especially in the United States and in Canada. In recent years, this concept slowly extended even to the Czech Republic, but issues of valuation of start-ups are dealt almost exclusively in foreign publications focusing on foreign start-up companies. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to familiarize the reader with the basic issue of the valuation of start-ups and performance of the various methods and approaches to the valuation of start-ups.
Czevitrum's brand building on a design glass market

The aim of the thesis is to find out whether it is possible to succeed on a design market with a new brand and with minimal financial resources. A Czech design startup Czevitrum is considered as model company in this situation. I focus on the development of Czevitrum's brand during the past two years mapping the brand's strategy on foreign markets and analyzing the product and its marketing communication. Based on the findings, I propose next steps for Czevitrum's brand building.
A method for building an IT startup company

The present thesis focuses on founding and evolution of information technology startups. Special attention is given to the personality of the founder and the options of financing a startup in the Czech Republic. A survey among the students of the University of Economics, Prague regarding the general awareness of the issues related to the founding of a startup and the main obstacles to it is an integral part of the thesis. The main contribution of the thesis is a method for building up the IT startups, which may serve as a hand-book for potential future founders. As a secondary contribution, this thesis serves as a compact overview of the issues related to startups, especially to the person of the founder and financing possibilities in the Czech Republic.
Marketing of start-ups

This diploma thesis is dedicated to marketing of start-ups and the most frequent mistakes they make in this field. The goal of this thesis is to propose recommendations for start-up founders which could help them avoid mistakes while building their business. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first part defines the concept of start-ups, explores their history and introduces the main issues start-ups have to deal with in the field of marketing. The second part contains interviews with start-up founders, employers and investors. The third part identifies the main problematic areas of start-ups' marketing and introduces recommendations and best practices for start-up founders, which is supposed to increase their chances to build a successful company.
Proposal of a framework for creation of a business plan for IT related projects

The aim of this thesis is the proposal of a framework for creation of a business plan for IT related projects. Emphasis is targeted on proposing usable framework evolved from theoretical findings and research among IT investors. First part describes the term "business plan" on theoretical level. Moreover, the first part includes the development of IT investments in start-up projects within the USA and Europe. In the second part, there is a description of the researched problematic, goal setting of the research and the development. As a closure of the research, there are recommendations and conclusions based on the outcomes. Third part relates to a new proposed framework for creation of a business plan for IT related projects, based on the outcomes from the second part. The forth part describes practical example of the proposed framework. It includes the Executive Summary and then the complete business plan for the IT start-up project, based on the new framework.
Strategie vstupu na německý trh pro start-up firmu

The goals of my thesis are to present the researched company an analysis of a German market in a speed-reading industry, to discuss the correctness of company's hypotheses about the German market compared to the German reality, and to suggest a marketing strategy for the company's market entry supporting the selected market entry mode. In the first part, the theoretical section is introduced in which motives for foreign entry, followed by models of an environment analysis, of entry modes and of a customer analysis are described. These models are further used in the second part in which specifically speed-reading market in Germany and a German customer are analyzed. Based on the analyses, the market entry mode of the company is suggested, followed by the evaluation of the previously defined hypotheses regarding a German customer and a product, and, lastly, the next steps which the company should execute are proposed.
Financial Strategy of Tech Start-up

This Bachelor's Thesis aims at launching a technology start-up project within a marketing agency named Via Caroli. Recently founded project offers CDN (content delivery network) services on a global market and aims to maximize profit and the number of customers. The Thesis is divided into two parts which are connected. The first part is theoretical and includes definitions that are essential for building a business plan, marketing strategies, technology and project's cash flow management. The second part is practical and focuses on a strategy of launching a new service on a global marketplace, competition analysis and utilizing internal resources to build a group of businesses offering various services in the field of online marketing, which could create a synergistic effect. The purpose of this Bachelor's Thesis is creating a strategy for the company's most critical period, which will lead to fulfilling objectives of Via Caroli.
