The Specifics of Speech Development in Premature Infants

The diploma thesis deals with the problems in clinical speech therapy and is entitled Specifics in the speech development of premature infants. The theoretical and practical findings are included in the thesis. The theoretical part is devoted to premature birth, risks associated with premature birth and care of premature individuals. It also describes multiple pregnancy, twin pregnancy and twins in terms of their development, education and specific forms of communication. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with child development, speech development and communication disorders. In the practical part, the empirical part, the research methods of the qualitative investigation and its focus are described in detail. The main aim of the thesis and sub-objectives are given. The thesis concludes with a summary of the data collected, which was used to develop a grounded theory. Retinopathy of prematurity from the point of view of nursery school teachers

The bachelor thesis deals with problematics of retinopathy of premature children of pre-school age. The main aim of this work is to find out what is the awareness of this diagnosis among kindergarten teachers. Three research questions have been set to clarify the objective. The first part of the thesis gives theoretical knowledge about premature children with a diagnosis of retinopathy of prematurity. The second part, research, presents the results obtained by the semi-structured interview method. The research sample consisted of nine teachers and one kindergarten director. For a better insight into the problematics, the interviews are supplemented by a case study of a child with retinopathy of prematurity.
Teachers point of view on premature baby in kindergarten

This bachelor thesis is focusing particularly on matters regarding prematurity of preschool children. The purpose is to find out how kindergartens teachers perceive it and what problem areas develop in children born prematurely. The thesis is divided into two sections theoretical and empirical. Theoretical part describes prematurity from early age to preschool age of the children. Further on it examines possible consequences of prematurity in postnatal development and systems which take care of these children. Results from research carried out by using qualitative methods are presented in the empiric section of the thesis.
Successfulness of premature children in the school educational process

The bachelor thesis focuses on the success of prematurely born children between the age of 7 and 9. The goal of this thesis is to find out, whether the preterm birth has any influence on the development of the children later in their lives, especially on school results. The research is carried out through questionnaires. Evaluation is described in the practical part. The theoretical part focuses the topic of prematurely born children in general view.
