EMG recording and analysis of EMG signal

The first part this bachelor thesis describe the muscle and nerve structures, and the move signals between variol structures. The next part deals with the basic requirements for electromyograph and accessories. After discussion about the possibility of assessing the performance of neural pathways through conduction studies is the final part of this bachelor thesis. The final chapters are devoted to their own measure isometric load and speed the spread of nerve fiber conduction.
Acceleration and motion of upper limbs

Purpose of this work is mainly the description of electrical plots in skeletal muscles and secondarily experimental verification and description of methods connected with measuring and evaulating biosignals. The theoretical presentation of muscle physiology facts is supplemented with an experiment using pair t-test, which describes procedures leading to evaluating particular hypotheses (the measured muscle is biceps brachii). In this work, the biosignal is an EMG signal, thus the electrical activity of muscle. Therefore, the main objective of this work is not only about using EMG as an examination method, but also about showing a complex view at the recording, processing and evaluating of EMG signal. These facts are supplemented with programm application which is showing the way working with EMG signals and also the possibilities of algorithm development in such signals.
The acquisition system for surface electromyography

At the beginning of this work the physiological nature of electromyographic signal is described. Design of miniature, portable EMG amplifier for surface measurement is presented. Creation of program for data visualization is described, followed by description of practical EMG amplifier realization.
Effectiveness of rehabilitation of the upper limb

The purpose of this bachelor‘s thesis is to examine muscle bioelectrical activity and its measuring in the BIOPAC system. To better understand this subject this bachelor’s thesis takes interest in a muscle tissue and all its main structure. It is also focused on electromyography as a significant diagnostic method in medicine. Subsequently there is an introduction to the practical part of bachelor‘s thesis. In this chapter the main focus is aimed at monitoring the parameters of the surface EMG signal of brachioradialis muscle. The measurements are collected in three phases, before, during and at the end of the proposed process of the strengthening of brachiotadialis muscle. The measured values are statistically processed and then interpreted. The final chapter seeks to specify the motivational activities and the enhancement of effectiveness of exercise.
The manipulator for a workshop

In the theoretical part of the work is a research of current mobile manipulators for handling the motors. The practical part of the work includes the conceptual design of the manipulator, dimensional, functional and strength calculations for the designed device and drawing documentation.

Title: Neuromuscular control of motor units in strength and coordination dependent tasks for lower limbs. Objective: To compare muscle activity on the level of motor units through decomposition of surface electromyography signal from vastus medialis during given strength and coordination oriented movement tasks and to describe eventual differences in the parameters of tracked motor units in regards to given movement tasks. To assess the quality of chosen method for describing the muscle activity control on the level of motor units for further possible applications in the research and clinical environment. To summarize relevant knowledge acquired through the decomposition method of surface electromyography signal regarding the control of movement, motor unit activation and other relevant informations for clinical environment. Method: Theoretical part of the work presents the decomposition method, the process of its evolution and its constituent parts in the context of electromyographic evaluation of muscles along with selected chapters of neuromuscular kinesiology on the level of motor units. Active Forearm Prosthesis

The aim of this work is to design active forearm prosthesis. This prosthesis scans myoelectric signals from upper limb, especially from forearm. Signals are processed by analog filters. Muscle contraction is evaluated by the Arduino, which also controls the servomotors. Motor unit is consisted of two motors. It is therefore prosthesis with two degrees of freedom.

Title: Spectral Analysis of Electromyography Data of Power Lifters Objectives: The aim of this thesis is a description of muscle activity and its measu- rement using electromyography (EMG), description of parameters of EMG signal and their relationship to neuromuscular physiology. The aim of the practical part is an implementation of spectral analysis of EMG data of power lifters when performing 4 series of 5 split-squats carrying loading in one hand. Methods: The spectral analysis of EMG data of 35 athletes is presented. The athletes performed 4 series of 5 split-squats with one sided loading. The loading was 25% and 50% of their body mass and the carrying position was homolateral and contralateral to stance leg. Muscles chosen for measurement were vastus medialis obliquus, vastus lateralis obliquus, gluteus medius and biceps femoris of both sides. The implementation of digital signal proces- sing algorithm was done using Matlab and its Signal Processing Toolbox. The spectral analysis was implemented using discrete Fourier transform with sliding 256-sample window size and 32-sample window increment.
