Geoturistický potenciál vybraných lokalit národního geoparku Vysočina

The bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of sites that have geotourism potential. The thesis presents eight geomorphologically important localities, which are evaluated by the geomorphosites methodology. These selected localities are located in the Vysočina National Geopark. The geopark itself is compared from the point of view of land use on the basis of map data. The purpose of this work is to point out the vulnerability of the sites. Among other things, changes in the geopark landscape were assessed.

Establishing geoparks in concept of sustainable development on the example of Joachim Barrande Geopark

The diploma thesis deals with the application of a new instrument for landscape protection and nature conservation which is the foundation of Geoparks, with a particular focus on the candidate Joachim Barrande Geopark. The aim of this paper is not only to assess the impacts of tourism on this area. Management of establishment of the geopark is discussed, too. The thesis emphasizes the current relations, cooperation and attitudes of the actors. Proposals to improve the efficiency of establishment of Geoparks are an integral part of the paper, too. It also critically appreciates the phenomenon of Geoparks, which is widely discussed in the concept of sustainable tourism. The thesis gives an overview of the legislative restrictions related to the protection of nature and implies the confrontation of the nature conservation interests with the interests of tourism. Educational use of geological park Czech Paradise in teaching upper primary school biology

The presented diploma thesis has an educational character and tries to find a way how to teach geology more attractive at primary schools. It includes authorial proposals for field trip routes and school experiments that can be implemented in lessons or within other educational school activity during school year. The field trips are built to be carried out in the geological park of Bohemian Paradise because of its natural wealth giving many possibilities to be used in teaching geology and other related fields of natural sciences. The experiments are designed to be realized during school lessons, therefore they are meant to be as little as possible time consuming and also the necessary material is supposed to be easily available. A theoretical part of the diploma thesis contains a summary of available natural datasets about the geological park of Bohemian Paradise, a review of the educational principles for organising of the field trips, creating worksheets, experiments and games in teaching process. The principles of creating concept maps are also included. SOCIOECONOMIC AND EDUCATIONAL FUNCTION OF GEOPARKS: THE EXAMPLE OF NATIONAL GEOPARK RALSKO

Diploma thesis deals with the concept of geoparks, which rapidly expand worldwide as a tool for sustainable development. This paper is focused on the socio-economic and educational function of geoparks and their management. The concept of geoparks, geoturism, heritage and its interpretation is generally discused, complemented by findings from practical researches. These researches are used to create an overview of methods, which are used in sociogeographical researches of geoparks. In practical terms are used qualitative methods, which identify and evaluate the overall functioning of the National Geopark Ralsko and its socio-economic and educational impacts. The main actors in the area are identified by document analysis and direct field observation and the geopark's education and interpretation of the local heritage is evaluated hrough. The main part of the research is semi-structured interviews with the actors in the territory. Based on these interview is evaluated management of this geopark, understanding and attitude towards the geopark and the functioning of the whole area. Several barriers to the development of the region and the Geopark have been identified. These barriers are are discussed with the theory. Vývoj využívání krajiny na příkladu těžbou ovlivněné krajiny Hlinecka a Skutečska

This bachelor thesis is about development of landuse using the example of landscape impacted by mining in Hlinecko and Skutečsko microregions. The aim of this study is to map the impact of surface mining on Hlinecko and Skutečsko microregions land development. Important study materials were documents provided by Museum of Skuteč and historical map materials processed in Geographic informational system. Results of thesis surprised me with how much was the landscape impacted by surface mining of granite and how abandoned and flooded mines contributed to increase of geotourism. It was interesting to see landscape changes in percentage and to find out that surface mines were the main reason of water areas increase.

Usage of deciduous woody plants of Botanical garden of the Faculty of Science of Charles University in Prague in teaching of biology

I have decided to include into my diploma thesis the history overview of the Botanical Garden. A number of major events and pitfalls accompanied the history of the garden. The chapter about the general characteristics of the Botanical Garden of Charles University Science Faculty is also comprised Inside my thesis. There are also mentions about the exposition distinction to greenhouse and outside part and also the significant geopark which offers the additional opportunities for education. I am presenting here the offered programs of Botanical Garden for schools and the public without omitting the sample material offered to the visitors. I have also included the description of the innovative manner of interactive education of biology using the information boards and QR codes placed on these boards. Considering the didactic usage of Botanical garden I have created the worksheets which complement the excursion plan. So I have comprised the excursion planning, creation of worksheets, assembling the questions and the pitfalls during their creation in the next chapters. Afterwards I have described the excursion execution itself, its evaluation and the possible modifications of worksheets.
