Field Trip Activities to IQpark
Zajacová, Blanka ; Kekule, Martina (advisor) ; Žák, Vojtěch (referee)
Title: Field Trip Activities to iQpark Author: Blanka Zajacová Department: Department of Physics Education Supervisor: RNDr. Martina Kekule, PhD., Department of Physics Education Abstract: This thesis deals with preparation of physically oriented worksheets and methodical sheets for pupils and teachers of secondary and high schools who visit the iQpark science centre. The theoretical part describes some teaching methods and forms and their classification. Further it sums up the results of research of materials for pupils and teachers that are published on the web sites of ten science centres in Europe and USA. Six physical field trip activities to iQpark for high school students and four for secondary school students were prepared as a part of the thesis. One worksheet for pupils and one methodical sheet for accompanying teachers were prepared for each field trip. A pilot study of the worksheets was carried out in cooperation with instructors of iQpark. 284 pupils from 20 different secondary schools and 407 students from 22 different high schools participated in the pilot study. Individual tasks were finalized on the basis of an analysis of pupils' responses that was carried out after the first testing. A pilot study of the methodical sheets was also carried out. 18 pedagogical workers expressed their...
Physicist's guide to the city
Suchá, Katarína ; Jermář, Jakub (advisor) ; Kekule, Martina (referee)
Title: Physicist's Guide to the City Author: Bc. Katarína Suchá Department: Katedra didaktiky fyziky Supervisor: Mgr. Jakub Jermář Supervisor's e-mail address: jakub.jermar@mff.cuni.cz Abstract: This diploma thesis aims to create a guide to the interesting places in Prague which are related to the physics. The guide contains suggestions for tours containing description of each visited place, including address, GPS coordinates, map with marked route and photographs. For students were created worksheets. The next part of the thesis contains list of places suitable for physical excursions. The thesis can serve as a teaching aid for preparing school trips and excursions. All guides, student worksheets and descriptions of excursions were published on FyzWeb in the section Exkurze (http://fyzweb.cz/exkurze/). Correspondence physics competition of MFF UK - its feedback and development
Kolář, Karel ; Žák, Vojtěch (advisor)
Correspondence physics competition of MFF UK - FYKOS - is extracurricular physical educational activity organized by university students for upper secondary school students. FYKOS is organized by Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University in Prague (MFF UK). FYKOS' main goals are: dissemination of physics, education of upper secondary school students, establishing conditions for creation of social bindings between participants (and organizers) and propagation of possibility of studies at MFF UK. This work is the first complete text about running of FYKOS and it is also the first systematical feedback from FYKOS' participants and FYKOS' organizers. The first part is a description of all FYKOS' activities (correspondence part, camps, FYKOSí Fyziklání and others). The second chapter includes an analysis of statistical survey of FYKOS' participants. Other chapters are dedicated to the description of gathering feedback and its interpretation. The feedback was made in several ways - interviews, web questionnaire and email questionnaire. Special attention was turned to study and professional development of former participants. Acquired knowledge lead up to formulation of possible improvements of FYKOS which are introduced in the last part of this theses. It was discovered that among respondents of...
The Box Full of Light
Přibylová, Květoslava ; RŮŽIČKOVÁ, Alice (advisor) ; ŘEZNÍČEK, Martin (referee)
In my thesis A Box Full of Light, Personality and Thoughts of Niels Bohr as an Inspiration for Science Documentaries, I look, as a documentary film director, at the basic principles and visualizations of the characteristic contemporary popular-science documentaries. I consider this form of documentary film for the most part bleak, often flat and lacking in any kind of progress. I am attempting to unravel where these tendencies come from and show, that they strongly relate to the general notion of science, which stands on the foundations of Newton-Carthesian paradigma. Especially in the area of ideals of measurableness, objectivity and mathematization. At the same time I also contemplate the relationship of knowledge and power, of science as a certain ideology and so also the connection between science documentary and ideological film. In the second part of this thesis I look for inspiration for artistically more progressive, richer and more multi-layered documentary films about science. I find this inspiration in the thoughts of the Danish physicist and philosopher Niels Bohr.
Physics Simulation on GPU
Janošík, Ondřej ; Zemčík, Pavel (referee) ; Polok, Lukáš (advisor)
This thesis addresses the issue of rigid body simulation and possibilities of paralellization using GPU. It describes the basics necessary for implementation of basic physics engine for blocks and technologies which can be used for acceleration. In my thesis, I describe approach which allowed me to gradually accellerate physics simulation using OpenCL. Each significant change is described in its own section and includes measurement results with short summary.
Times X
Němec, Jakub ; Jakalová, Zuzana (referee) ; Mikyta, Svätopluk (advisor)
Bachelor thesis time X is a creative science fiction story about a perfect society undefined future, which is built on the necessary global genocide in favor of the existence of life on the planet. The analytical work I examine the origin and development of the new company, global ecological changes, code of ethics and the position of art in this system. I apply the theoretical platform for the visual identity of a fictitious company.
Organization of preparatory seminars for participants of Physics Olympiad
ŠIMONOVÁ, Magdaléna
This thesis is focused on organization of seminars for high-school students to help them solve Physics Olympiad problems. It describes preparation and course of the seminars, participation of students on problem solving and interaction between students and the tutor. The thesis also evaluates benefits of the seminars for the students and may serve as a useful guide for organization of such events in future.
Physics in movie
BURDOVÁ, Veronika
The aim of this work is typifying and physical analysis of short scenes from tho most famous films, mostly of the Czech origin which would be suitable for physical instruction on the second stage of the basic school. This work involves a pedagogical research which focused on influencing pupils of the second stage of the basic school by films and television and their motivation by using the chosen short scenes in the teaching.
Design and implementation of tasks in the physical practice of mechanics and thermodynamics
KADLECOVÁ, Lenka
This thesis was created to design instruction papers for the physical experiments, which will be used in the Physical practice of mechanics and thermodynamics in the new premises of the Faculty of Science of the University of the South Bohemia. The work not only documents the theoretical background and approach to measurement, but also describes how these individual experiment sets were prepared and what the problems (and solutions) for each task were.
Utilization of video camera at physical measurement
ULRICH, Vratislav
Utilization of video camera at physical measurement This thesis is aimed to use of a camcoder during physical measurements purposed for high school students. The thesis includes theoretical part, which is about physics lesson basic structure viewed from the point of educational goals. Further it describes a manual for recording the video for video analysis and basic presentation of the Tracker program. The practical part shows applicable excercises and their physical analysis. Exemplary working sheets in an electronic form filled in according to videoanalyses in the Tracker program are included as well.
