Assessing the Financial Efficiency of a Company Using Statistical Methods
Šebestová, Monika ; Gintherová, Stanislava (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with the assessment of the financial performance of a company using statistical methods. The theoretical part describes the problems of time series, regression analysis, correlation analysis and financial analysis. In the practical part statistical methods are used to reveal the dependence between the indicators and the prediction of the future development of the company in the coming years. On the basis of established results the company is compared with two important rivals, and there are made some suggestions how to improve its economic situation.
Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine Sensorless Control Algorithms
Veselý, Libor ; Prokop, Roman (referee) ; Melichar,, Jiří (referee) ; Václavek, Pavel (advisor)
Algorithms of sensorless control of surface permanent magnet synchronous motors are discussed in the dissertation thesis. A method for position and speed estimation in high-speed region based on model reference adaptive system is described. Furthermore, classical approach using Kalman filtering was verified. Kalman filter expected the rotor speed to be constant as a modification of model using variable speed approach. These algorithms are not able to work at low speed region, thus a new method was proposed. This method is designed on extended Kalman filtering and uses the model which describes the stator inductance changes in - coordinates. At motor start, knowledge of initial rotor setup is required. The algorithm for initial rotor angle using high frequencies injected into the motor was proposed.
Assessing Economic Situation of a Company and Proposals for Its Improvement
Machová, Hana ; MSc,, Miroslav Hladký, (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the evaluation of the economic situation of the selected company. The theoretical part describes the issues of financial and statistical analysis. Financial analysis indicators, time series analysis, regression and correlation analysis are described. In the analytical part, a financial and thereafter statistical analysis is performed using selected methods to determine the current situation and expected progression of indicators in the following years. Based on the identified problematical areas, possible suggestions for improving the current situation are describes in the proposal part.
Sensorless velocity control and positions of d.c. low-power brush motor
Svoboda, Jan ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Prajzner, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on sensorless control of low load brushed DC motor that is used in the actuators made by the Honeywell company. The first part provides an introduction into motor control and common used methods of speed and position sensing of brushed DC motor. Sensorless method of sensing described in this work is the detection of commutation pulses from the signal of motor current. These pulses are caused by brushes leaping over the commutator bars. Correct evaluation of commutation pulses can provide the information about velocity and position of the motor. This relatively new method of detection of commutation pulses is investigated and arising problems are demonstrated on measured samples of signal. Suitable methods of signal processing are then proposed. Infallibility of these signal processing methods is then proved on the set of signals measured under circumstances of supply voltage and abrasion. Then it is decided which signal processing method that sensorless control system can use is the best.
Assessing Selected Indicators Using Time Series Analysis
Turisová, Alena ; Novotná, Veronika (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
Master's thesis deals with the assessment of selected financial indicators of the production company X in order to evaluate its performance and financial situation. Based on the results of the analyzes for the period 2008 to 2015 and the application of statistical methods of time series analysis and regression analysis, prognosis of future development of monitored indicators are obtained. Subsequently, the prognosis are used for the final formulating of proposals to improve future business efficiency of the company.
Assessment of Selected Indicators of a Company Using Statistical Methods
Rešková, Petra ; Novotná, Veronika (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
Master´s thesis deals with the assessment of selected financial indicators of the company using a statistical methods. The first part is focused on the theoretical description of financial indicators, time series analysis as well as regression and correlation analysis. The practical part contains a statistical analysis of selected indicators with subsequent prediction of indicators for the next two years. The practical part also contains a comparison of selected indicators with the industry average and a correlation analysis to determine the dependence of selected indicators. The last part contains suggestions to improve the situation of the company.
Development of modern acoustic features quantifying hypokinetic dysarthria
Kowolowski, Alexander ; Zvončák, Vojtěch (referee) ; Galáž, Zoltán (advisor)
This work deals with designing and testing of new acoustic features for analysis of dysprosodic speech occurring in hypokinetic dysarthria patients. 41 new features for dysprosody quantification (describing melody, loudness, rhythm and pace) are presented and tested in this work. New features can be divided into 7 groups. Inside the groups, features vary by the used statistical values. First four groups are based on absolute differences and cumulative sums of fundamental frequency and short-time energy of the signal. Fifth group contains features based on multiples of this fundamental frequency and short-time energy combined into one global intonation feature. Sixth group contains global time features, which are made of divisions between conventional rhythm and pace features. Last group contains global features for quantification of whole dysprosody, made of divisions between global intonation and global time features. All features were tested on Czech Parkinsonian speech database PARCZ. First, kernel density estimation was made and plotted for all features. Then correlation analysis with medicinal metadata was made, first for all the features, then for global features only. Next classification and regression analysis were made, using classification and regression trees algorithm (CART). This analysis was first made for all the features separately, then for all the data at once and eventually a sequential floating feature selection was made, to find out the best fitting combination of features for the current matter. Even though none of the features emerged as a universal best, there were a few features, that were appearing as one of the best repeatedly and also there was a trend that there was a bigger drop between the best and the second best feature, marking it as a much better feature for the given matter, than the rest of the tested. Results are included in the conclusion together with the discussion.
An Econometric Model of Electricity Demand in the Czech Republic - a Comparative Study of the Relationship between Retail and Commercial Prices in EU
Franěk, Martin ; Pavláková Dočekalová, Marie (referee) ; Luňáček, Jiří (advisor)
The subject of this master´s thesis is to create an econometric models explaining the formation of electricity prices with a focus on comparing the environment of retail and wholesale prices between years 2010 and 2020. The model will be created for the environment of the Czech Republic and another chosed EU member country. The partial goals of the work are the research of professional literature, the creation of a database for the computational part, the creation of the model in the appropriate statistical software (GRETL and IBM SPSS Statistics 25), testing the stability of the model and the discussion and evaluation of results.
Regression Analysis of Spatially and Time Distributed Data
Rosecký, Martin ; Hübnerová, Zuzana (referee) ; Bednář, Josef (advisor)
This thesis summarizes findings about municipal solid waste (MSW) forecasting. Basic information about linear regression and correlation analysis were described. Analysis of influencing factors was realized on municipality with extended competence level. The resulting models explain up to 99 % of variability. Final models of MSW per capita explain between 12 and 75 % of variability. Variability explained by model of MSW per capita is lower by 20 % than comparable study which however uses data that are not usually available. Models can be used in waste management and their simplicity is benefit for real usage.
Identification of Performance Factors of the Company in the Field ICT
Drábková, Pavlína ; Doležal,, Jiří (referee) ; Režňáková, Mária (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on finding and identification of performance factors of the company by means of intercompany comparisons methods. It analyzes the company which operates in the field of information and communication technologies and is compared with companies in related field of national economy. The performance factors of the company are selected by means of correlation analysis, which influences the performance of the company, afterwards there are compared the positions selected of companies by means of intercompany comparison methods in particular years.
