Multiculturalism and integration of Japanese children into Czech nursery schools

The theoretical part has two main aims. The first one is to clarify terms related to multiculturalism using professional literature. The second very important aim is to introduce the Japanese culture, the evolution of Japanese family and the status of a child in society. Also there is the outlook on Japanese preschool education institutions. These information comes basically from the interview with the Japanese national, nevertheless some additional information comes from literature. The aim of the practical part is analysed the stay of seven Japanese children in the kindergarten in one class during approximately three years. Then it introduce integration program of Japanese children to typical Czech kindergarten which is based on practical experiences. Also the practical part describes the preschool attendance of the foreign children in one kindergarten during 10 years. The research has proved the attendance of the foreign children to other kindergarten in Prague parts Břevnov, Dejvice and Hanspaulka. As well the research presents teacher's experiences with multiculturalism and multicultural education.
Clients with dual diagnosis and their specifics in the process of treatment in therapeutic communities for drug addicts: self-medication phenomenon and late abstinence psychopatology

This thesis is about clients who are in treatment in therapeutic communities for drug addicts and suffer with a mental illness alongside drug addiction. The theoretical part summarizes the definition and description of dual diagnosis, the prevalence of people with dual diagnosis and discusses the possibilities of therapeutic approaches to clients with these specific demands. Finally, attention is paid to the theory of self-medication for symptoms of mental illness through addictive substances which supports the theoretical model of addiction as a result of reactions to psychiatric illness. The research was carried out at the research group, which was formed by all clients currently in treatment in two therapeutic communities for drug addicts in July 2015. The research was conducted as a quantitative design through non-standardized questionnaire. This research shows that from the total number of respondents, 79% had a psychiatric diagnosis in addition to substance abuse. Most often these were methamphetamine users and multiple substance users. From psychiatric disorders were most strongly represented personality disorders, depressive disorders and disorders from psychotic spectrum. Application of early detection and brief intervention tools by nurses among patients with suspected alcohol or tobacco harmful use or dependence syndrome

Given the high prevalence of alcohol and tobacco use among minors and adult population in the Czech Republic a high incidence of diseases related to excessive use of these substances can be observed as well. Health care professionals, especially nurses, are in a unique position for implementation of screening and brief intervention in order to reduce risk and harmful substance abuse. Legislation of the Czech Republic regarding harmful consequences of risk alcohol and tobacco use obliges them to conduct brief intervention in suspected cases. The theoretical part of this thesis summarizes the current situation regarding prevalence and incidence of alcohol and tobacco use in the Czech Republic, describes diseases resulting from excessive alcohol and tobacco use, defines methods for early detection and brief intervention and finally characterizes the role of nurses in providing brief interventions. Research conducted as part of this work was carried out on internal departments of health institutions with accreditation in Prague in the form of a quantitative survey. Crimes of clients in methadone substitution facilities in Prague

This bachelor's work focuses on the area of crime committed by clients of facilities providing methadone substitution in Prague. It is divided into two parts - theoretical, where the chapters deal with main topics related with methadone substitution, substitution facilities in Prague, drug related crime and valid legislation concerning drug crime, whereas the research part provides data from questionnaire inquiry that took place in April - May 2013 in three Prague methadone facilities. Decrease of drug related crime is one of the goals of methadone maintenance treatment (next to lowering health risks, stabilization of social status etc.), so fulfilment of this goal might provide a convincing argument for the appropriate authorities competent to distribute financial sources into social and medical services, just as for the public who also tend to see aspects of crime and financial costs for society with great importance. It then seems only fitting to research whether we are successful in meeting these goals.
