The marriage of Figaro, focused on the part of Cherubino

This thesis acquaint readers with the title of The marriage of Figaro and the role of Cherubino. The thesis describes the life and work of the author of The marriage of the Figaro, which is Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais, composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with a focus on his opera, and librettist Lorenzo da Ponte. Further, the work introduces the role of Cherubino and deals with the analysis of two Cherubino‘s arias. The aim of the analysis, both text and musical parts, was to bring the psychology of the figure as close as possible.

This bachelor thesis summarizes aspects of voice health conceived as a healthy lifestyle with respect to the needs of singers. It focuses on the physical and mental aspects of the matter in several chapters. It mentions the enviroment suitable especially for singers. It highlights the benefits of medicinal foods available in the Czech Republic known as natural antibiotics, and in the end of the thesis is mentioned the topic of holistic medicine.

This work familiarizes the reader with tenor roles in the opera Bartered Bride by Bedřich Smetana. The work includes a brief biography of the composer with an emphasis on creation of the opera. The main part of this thesis is a description of dramatic evolution of the characters in comparison with interpretative approach. Famous Czech performers are mentioned.
The development of drama in German opera

The main idea of this thesis is to describe the development of german romantic opera focusing on the significant evolution of its drama, in the musical, textual and finally the interpretative aspects. A selection from their artworks (with regard to the main topic of thesis) was difficult and highly subjective. They have created a lot of outstanding feminine roles, so I chose five heroines that have served me as individual milestones along the way for almost a century. They have provided me with a suitable structure to map artistic maturation and the development of new, original and completely unique operatic form.
Five Poems of Mary Stuart, Op.135 by Robert Schumann

The song cycle of five songs by Robert Schumann called Poems of Mary Stuart op. 135 is a neglected part of Czech singers´ repertoire, and it is even less involved in Czech music theoretical studies. This thesis aims to contribute to a better understanding of the work by analyzing the songs in terms of harmonic, formal, semiotic and semantic structure, singing technique and interpretation, thereby promoting a revival of interest in the work itself. To aid a better understanding and classification cycle into the whole context is the work in the first part also provided with brief chapters about the life and work of Robert Schumann and the life of Mary Stuart.
STAGING TECHNIQUES ANALYSIS WITH FOCUS ON WORK WITH OPERA CHOIR

This thesis is been focused on staged work of opera choir from the artist’s point of view. By analyzing three specific scenes from productions of Prague State Opera tries to compare different manifestations of choir and find out what their pitfalls are.
Interpretive principles in Verdi's operas

The master’s thesis deals with the theme creation of the opera production of Giuseppe Verdi with the focus on his opera Falstaff and deals with significant important interpretations of this opera. This dissertation is supposed to bring a complete picture of Verdi’s opera production pointing out some details which are not commonly known nor from the public nor in the professional music world. What appears in this work is Verdi’s correspondence (letters). I consider these letters an authentic source to understand Verdi’s creative and artistic intentions. Hereafter I portray an idea of how to perceive opera Falstaff not only from my point of view but I used the lead from the Italian reviews and musicology.
Operetta in the Karlin Musical Theatre

The fundamental topic of my thesis is operetta in the Karlin Musical Theatre. In the first part of the thesis I inquire into the development of the genre itself. The next chapter is dedicated to famous Czech and international authors of the most renowned operetta works. I have dedicated an especial space to the operetta of Mam'zelle Nitouche as one of the most successful foreign operettas in our country. It is followed by an overview of light opera houses, mainly in Prague, that are in operation since the 18th century. I also inquire into the development of the Karlin Musical Theatre and its changes. I my thesis prominent figures in the management of the theatre as well as performing stars are featured. I give a short account of their artistic lives and their contribution to the genre of operetta in Karlin Musical Theatre. My work is concluded by the interviews with influential members of the ensemble of the theatre.
My way to Janáček and his The Cunning Little Vixen

In this thesis I focused on well known Janáček´s opera The Little Cunning Vixen. First I dealt about artist involved in the creation of the final version of the opera.Thus a writer Rudolf Těsnohlídek who created essays to Stanislav Lolek´s drawings. The purpose of my contribution was to reflect on the character of Vixen. I bachelor thesis I analyze main aria of Vixen "I stole!".
