Planning of UTMS access networks
Spěváček, Jiří ; Kapoun, Vladimír (referee) ; Novotný, Vít (advisor)
The master thesis is focused on the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) - the third-generation cell phone technology. The first part describes the development of mobile networks and the structure of the UMTS. The second part, the main part of the thesis, is focused on the planning procedure of the UMTS access network. It consists of an explanation of the general planning procedure and a specific project designing the coverage of Pelhřimov surroundings. The final part of the thesis contains a laboratory problem including instructions.
Innovation Suggestions of Quality Operations of Door Balancer for Škoda Yeti
Spěváček, Jiří ; Hrubý, Roman (referee) ; Bartes, František (advisor)
This work deals with the quality of product, be specific quality of door balancer for Škoda Yeti car. This product is produced by company Edscha Bohemia s.r.o. First of all we describe the company and the product itself, arter that we present actual sitution of development and production of door balancer in this company and finally we present innovations of quality processes used by production of the door balancer.
Interactions in solutions and gels of stimuli-responsive polymer systems investigated by NMR spectroscopy
Konefał, Rafał ; Spěváček, Jiří (advisor) ; Hrabal, Richard (referee) ; Štěpánek, Miroslav (referee)
Stimuli-responsive (stimuli-sensitive, intelligent, or smart) polymers are polymer materials which, after small external stimuli, evidently change their physical or chemical properties. Smart polymers can be classified according stimuli they respond to such as: temperature changes, mechanical stress, light irradiation, ultrasonic treatment, application of external magnetic as well as electric field, changes of pH, ionic strength, addition of the chemical agents and presence of biomolecules and bioactive molecules. Stimuli-responsive synthetic polymer systems has attracted considerable attention due to wide range of applications, i.e. controlled drug delivery and release systems, diagnostics, tissue engineering and 'smart' optical systems, as well as biosensors, microelectromechanical systems, coatings, and textiles. Among the types of stimuli for this dissertation temperature, pH and reactive oxygen species (ROS) responsive polymer systems were studied. In case of thermoresponsive polymers, when polymer chains are molecularly dissolved in a good solvent, changes (increasing or decreasing) of temperature result in insolubility (globular nanoparticles formation) of polymer chains, called temperature induced phase-separation. pH responsive polymers change properties such as: solubility, volume (gels),...
NMR Study of Oligonucleotide Structures

Title: NMR Study of Oligonucleotide Structures Author: Václav Římal Department: Department of Low-Temperature Physics Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Helena Štěpánková, CSc., Department of Low- Temperature Physics Abstract: The dynamics of nucleic acids plays a fundamental role in the interactions with proteins. Some processes are governed by changes in DNA stability and flexibility caused by sequence alterations or chemical modifications without substantial structural impact. We employed line-shape analysis of variable-temperature 1H NMR spectra to deeply investigate the melting transition of DNA structures. We observed a significant influence of the sequence beyond the nearest neighbours on chemical shifts and thermodynamics of the double helix. The CpG motif is especially sensitive to its distant surroundings and for a particular oligonucleotide it was even found to undergo an unexpected local conformational transition. A strong cooperativity in the duplex dis- ruption was witnessed by both the equilibrium and kinetic aspects as well as by distant effects of cytosine methylation. We propose a two-state melt- ing scheme also for a fragment of a transcription element proved here to fold as a hairpin with a six-membered loop. In addition, we describe the properties of self-assemblies of riboguanosine and...

19th European Symposium on Polymer Spectroscopy - ESOPS19. 77th Prague Meeting on Macromolecules
Spěváček, Jiří ; Dybal, Jiří
19th European Symposium on Polymer Spectroscopy (ESOPS19) organized simultaneously as the 77th Prague Meeting on Macromolecules (PMM) took place at the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague on July 7-11, 2013. Polymer spectroscopy represents important part of the polymer science. Symposium booklet contains conference programme and 96 abstracts of contributions presented by 99 participants from 23 countries during ESOPS19; 9 abstracts of invited lectures, 27 abstracts of oral communications and 60 abstracts of posters. These abstracts cover contributions from all fields of spectroscopy (infrared, NIR, Raman, fluorescence, NMR, EPR, mass spectroscopy, X-ray, dielectric and mechanical spectroscopy). Full texts based on the part of the presented contributions will be published as an issue of the journal Macromolecular Symposia.
