The transformation of presentation of the middle east populationin post-9/11 american films

The master thesis named The Transformation of Presentation of the Middle East Population in Post-9/11 American Films aims to closely analyze eight chosen mainstream American films with the help of the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The plot of the observed films has to be placed in the Middle East, picture terrorism or contain the Arabs or Muslims as characters. On the basis of a wide range of criteria and the final comparison, the thesis focuses on the comparison of the Hollywood movies which were created before and after the terrorist attacks in New York in 2001. The theoretical chapters are dedicated to the introduction of the social construction of reality, stereotyping and one-dimensional description of the Arabs in Hollywood films and mainly to the deep introduction of West and Islamic culture, not only from the historic but also cultural and valuable point of view. The applied methodology follows after. The detailed analysis of the chosen films is accompanied by photographs and excerpts directly from the films to help readers to understand the differences as much as possible. This part is followed by the final evaluation of the analysis on the basis of the comparison of the observed criteria. Forbes magazine's position in the chech market in the frst year of its existence

This bachelor thesis named The Forbes Magazine's Position on the Czech Market in the First Year of Existence aims to introduce in detail the Czech mutation of Forbes, which is one of the best known and widely read economic journals, and then to compare its content and graphical layout and activities on websites and social networks Facebook and Twitter with similarly specialized weekly magazines Euro and Ekonom. The bachelor thesis focuses on the first year of the publication of Forbes Czech Republic, namely on the period between November 2011, when the first issue of Forbes was launched, and October 2012. Two basic methods - analytical and comparative - were used to elaborate this thesis. The bachelor thesis consists of three chapters. The first one represents the theoretical basis. It briefly characterizes magazines and journals as the part of the periodical press and closely describes their forms focusing on the post-communist period in the Czech Republic. The second chapter introduces Forbes Czech Republic and presents its content and graphical analysis, including the mapping of activities on the Internet. The third part is based on the analyses of weekly magazines Euro and Ekonom. The thesis ends with the comparison of these three periodicals.
The development and orientation of the Czech environmental politics in the historical and geopolitical context

The diploma essay named The development and orientation of the Czech environmental politics in the historical and geopolitical context aims to introduce in detail the forms of the Czech environmental politics since 1990. The first chapter of the essay provides readers with the theory of environmental politics and sustainable development, for example with different types of environmental instruments, actors or goals. Three following chapters are grounded in this theory and in detail introduce the main pillars of the environmental politics of the Czech Republic, or rather CSFR. The development of the Czech environmental politics is in the essay divided into a few phases, the accession to the EU represents the main milestone. The fourth chapter summarizes the development of the Czech environmental politics, compares it with the environmental politics of the EU and offers the evaluation of the current form of the Czech environmental politics.
The Fulfilment of the Kyoto Protocol Commitments by the BRIC States

The impact of climate changes has been one of the most discussed topics past few decades. The Kyoto Protocol, as the first international legal document containing exactly quantified commitments to reduce six greenhouse gases, tries to prevent their negative role. This bachelor thesis is focused on the BRIC states as the group which represents one of the biggest issuers of the greenhouse gases. The thesis also presents the summary of the international environmental policies, introduces the Kyoto Protocol and provides readers with the detailed analysis of the fulfilment of the Kyoto Protocol by the BRIC states.
