Fixed-Point Implementation Speech Recognizer
Král, Tomáš ; Černocký, Jan (referee) ; Burget, Lukáš (advisor)
Master thesis is related to the problematics of automatic speech recognition on systems with restricted hardware resources - embedded systems. The object of this work was to design and implement speech recognition system on embedded systems, that do not contain floating-point processing units. First objective was to choose proper hardware architecture. Based on the knowledge of available HW resources, the recognition system design was made. During the system development, optimalization was made on constituent elements so they could be mounted on chosen HW. The result of the the project is successful recognition of Czech numerals on embedded system.
Time of Performance of an Obligation (Focusing on Entrepreneurs' Obligations)
Král, Tomáš ; Horáček, Tomáš (referee)
Time of Performance of an Obligation (Focusing on Entrepreneurs' Obligations) Abstract The thesis deals with time of performance of an obligation from the perspective of private law and focuses on entrepreneurs' obligations. The aim of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive description and analysis of the topic. Time of performance is analysed while employing functional approach and its relationship with other legal institutes is emphasized. The thesis is divided into five chapters. It starts with general subjects and ends with the special ones. The first chapter provides a general introduction to the topic. Time of performance is classified within the law of obligations and its functions are analysed. Then there is a comparative excursus, which is made use of later in the thesis, that focuses on prerequisites of remedies for non-performance. The thesis then focuses on terminology (time of performance, maturity, ability to perform) and on the concept of time in the field of law. In the second chapter, cases where time of performance is determined in advance (Section 1958 para. 2 CC) are analysed and particular sources of time of performance are illuminated. The third chapter deals with cases where time of performance is not determined in advance and depends either 1) upon the will of a creditor (Section...

Král, Tomáš ; Soukup, Jaromír (advisor) ; Křížová, Markéta (referee)
(in English) I my work I tried to describe a analyze travels of Alberto Vojtěch Frič, one of the greatest czech travelers. Frič travel in several states of Latin America. I this work won't main topic his gathering of cacti, eventhough it was part of every journey. Work will focus on impact his travels to science and society. His impact on etnography, biology, relationship with indians and geographical discovery will be mentioned here. I will focus on his influence through his literature production in second part of my work. Attention will be to both ethnographical publications and adventurous books for youth. With the help of publications Frič tried send message of his ideas considered as urgent to tell to future generations.
Direct Learning Architecture For Digital Predistortion With Real-Valued Feedback
Král, Tomáš Král, Jan
The power efficiency is a key parameter of modern comunication systems. Efficient nonlinear power amplifiers are linearised using digital predistorters. Conventional predistorters require two ADCs in the feedback. In this paper we have proposed a modification of the direct learning architecture using solely one ADC in the feedback and an RF mixer instead of a quadrature mixer. This allows us to minimise the system complexity and power consumtion and maximise the efficiency. The proposed architecture has been verified experimentally and compared to the conventional digital predistorters. We have shown that it can achieve same linearisation performance as the conventional architecture with two ADCs. Moreover the proposed method outperformed the conventional DPD with indirect learning architecture.

Faith as the basis of knowledge
KRÁL, Tomáš František
Michaela Polányi's Theory of Personal Knowledge (1891-1976) attempts to cope with the objections of the critical period of philosophy in which the ideals of science are set to be objectively unbiased and empirically grounded knowledge. The reason for this is the distrust of the subjectivistly conceived influence of the tradition and authority of the major research ancestors. Polanyi, however, points out that such ideals disregard the important constitutions of the knowledge of personal character, without which knowledge would not be possible. That is why it responds to these objections by trying to rehabilitate them and putting them in proper contexts. It points out the role of personal judgment that makes an intuitive estimation of the fertility of a research project within the given competencies. It highlights the role of the expertise and knowledge, which operate thanks to capturing the researcher in the tradition of the branch. And last but not least, it emphasizes the role of intellectual enthusiasm that helps the creative and original way to solve the problem. However, according to Polanyi, these constituents can perform their role properly only if the researcher establishes close contact with reality within an act he describes as contemplative submersion into the problem. This cognitive act should protect the entire cognitive process from the risk of subjective distortion. Polanyi also discovers two dimensions of knowledge. The first dimension is called tacit (unspecific). This dimension affects all cognitive processes that take place outside the apparent focal awareness of the cognitive person, yet they essentially influence the understanding of the ability to integrate in the mind of the cognitive person not only the individual elements of knowledge but also their interrelations. It helps to estimate the limits and possibilities of research. The second dimension is fiduciary-programmed knowledge, which points out that all knowledge is based on the commitment of faith to the reality of the cognitive object, to personal abilities of the cognitive person, and to the research community, and the principles of its research. It turns out that faith is not an obstacle to scientific knowledge, but a prerequisite for discovery. That is why Polanyi's theory of human knowledge is also considered in the field of the defense of the relevance of religious epistemology. Polanyi does not make the distinction between secular and religious epistemology as critics of religion. Both types of knowledge, according to him, are constituted by the same cognitive abilities that are applied in the same reality. The difference lies more in a different perspective and in the subject of interest. This thesis focuses on selected chapters of religious epistemology, where the original objections and proposals for their resolving solutions are well evident. These are, above all, the possibilities and limits of God's experience of knowledge, the role of reason and belief, and the possibilities of personal realization of knowledge within the religious tradition and the Authority Church.
About secular stagnation
Král, Tomáš ; Baxa, Jaromír (advisor) ; Hlaváček, Jiří (referee)
The main focus of this work is theory of secular stagnation. The first part deals with the formulation of theory of secular stagnation, more concretely with a summary of the main ideas of its representatives. This theory implies a decline in the trend component of economic growth rate. I used state space model to test the hypothesis, if there is statistically significant decline in the trend component of economic growth rate. I found statistically significant decline in the trend component of economic growth rate for USA, Japan, UK, France and Canada. These findings are consistent with the theory of secular stagnation.
The contemporary relevance of Paul M. Sweezy's work
Král, Tomáš ; Baxa, Jaromír (advisor) ; Maršál, Aleš (referee)
This work is engaging in personality and opinions of an American neomarxistic economist Paul M. Sweezy. In the first part of my work, I am writing about the kinked demand curve, which was formulated for the first time by Paul Sweezy. Then I am dealing with Sweezy's evaluation of socialism and how he dealt with development of socialism in socialistic countries. I put the main emphasis on interpretation of economic crisis, which he considers as a normal state of capitalism. In the end I'll try to show, that Sweezy's work is relevant, when explaining the origin of some problems of today's economy.
