Evaluation of resting energy expenditure and body composition in obese patients
Jílková, Anna ; Matoulek, Martin (advisor) ; Zelinka, Tomáš (referee)
Introduction: The basis of obesity treatment is a conservative regimen based on a reduced diet and physical activity, individually set for each person. As the obese often show extreme deviations in body composition compared to individuals of normal weight, it is often difficult to determine their energy needs or determine their energy expenditure. The gold standard for determining resting energy expenditure (REE) is examination using indirect calorimetry (IC). This method can also detect deviations from the calculations of predictive equations, determine the degree of adaptation of the individual to low energy intake, and thus set the appropriate therapy. Objectives: The main objective of the work is the analysis and description of data on body composition and resting energy expenditure values of selected groups of obese individuals whose REE measurement results using indirect calorimetry reached a level below 95 % of the predicted REE calculated using the Harris Benedict (H-B) equation. The sub-goals are to describe the dependence of the size of some components of body composition on the size of the REE and to find out if the deviations between the number of the total measured REE and the REE calculated using H-B in the adapted group are significant. Methodology: For the research 71 patients of...
The reintroduction of elementary school children with specific learning disabilities to a traditional classroom after distance education: teacher and parent point of view
Jílková, Anna ; Kotlík, Kamil (advisor) ; Křivánková, Markéta (referee)
The Abstract Title: The reintroduction of children with specific learning disabilities to a traditional classroom in primary schools after distance education: teacher and parent point of view Objectives: The main goal of this thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness of remote education, focusing particularlyon specialized primary school students diagnosed with a specific learning disability. Methods: Two Google forms were created specifically for the purposes of the thesis analysis. Surveyed schools were selected using an internet search of category for students with special learning needs. Produced questionnaire was targeted at the selected specialized schools' teachers and the legal guardians of their special-needs students. Majority of the used questionnaire consisted of closed-ended questions. Results: The obtained data lead to the conclusion that both teachers and students handled the transition to a distance education, generally taking the form of online learning, appropriately. Most of the surveyed students managed to maintain the same learning skills. Only one fifth of the student respondents admitted to being physically active less than once per week. Keywords: Distance education, specific learning disabilities, practical primary school, return, epidemic
Social dealings with the family of severely eye handicapped child of pre-school age
Host care in the Czech Republic
Jílková, Anna ; Stretti, Sylvie (advisor) ; Cimrmannová, Tereza (referee)
The diploma thesis is focused on host care in the Czech Republic. The first chapter deals with attachment and its explanation. The second chapter describes alternative care in the Czech Republic. The list of alternative care forms and types of institutional care are included in this part. The third chapter is focused on host care and its legislative framework, forms, advantages, risks and the process of host care mediation. In the fourth chapter there are introduced specific examples of host care. The fifth chapter describes the survey methodology focused on host care. The sixth chapter contains thequestionnaire survey assessment. To define the issue, the author uses specialized literature aimed at substitutional family care and host care, Czech laws (i.e. Social-legal protection of the children law, Civil code, the law of institutional care accomplishment). She also derives from websites occupied by host care, such as civic association Děti patří domů, The Centre for Adoption and Foster Care. The aim is to verify theoretical facts followed from specialized sources and the description of host care in the Czech Republic.
Influence of caffeine on strength performance
Jílková, Anna ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Petráková Doležalová, Radka (referee)
This bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is divided into several chapters which deal with general properties of caffeine, its structure, metabolism, occurrence and effects on human organism. A special chapter deals with sports issues and the use of caffeine in sports. The practical part includes individual research into the influence of caffeine on the strenght performance and on the human organism. The aim of this work was to find out whether caffeine shows ergogenic effects at a strenght performance of 1 RM. For this, an experiment was used in which the participants underwent two tests, in one using caffeine 3 mg / kg body weight, in the other using placebo. The challenge was to lift as much weight as possible for one maximum repetition (1RM) in bench press and deadlift exercises. A total of 24 people, 17 women and 7 men with an average age of 27 years and an average BMI of 23.8 underwent the experiment. The test results showed an average improvement of 2.3 kg for deadlift and 0.3 kg for bench press. However, these values are not statistically significant (p = 0.253 and p = 0.775). Key words: caffeine, strenght performance, dietary suplements, deadlift, bench press

This thesis deals with the problem of employment of people with visual impairment on the labour market, using methods of qualitative research. The autor intends to find out the underlying causes of high unemployment of this disadvanteged group on the labour market. The author works using biographic research data of ten people with serious visual impairment - employees of rehabilitative and requalification center called Dědina in Prague - to study the causes of their success on the labour market. Based on this study, the author is inferring hypothesis about possibilities to improve the situation of the target group, especially focusing on the relationship between the client and helping worker in rehabilitation of people with visual impairment.
