The Czech Republic pension system - developments after 1989 and its reform

The present thesis focuses on the analysis of the Czech pension system reform. In order to understand the respective consequences, the analysis is put into the context of the development of the Czech pension system after 1989. In addition to the value aspect, attention is paid to the demographic, legislative, political, economic, social, institutional and international aspects of the pension system, its arrangement, financing and financial sustainability. The comparison of the pension reform implemented by the coalition government of Prime Minister Petr Nečas with the concept of pension reform of the opposition Czech Social Democratic Party by the criteria of budgetary responsibility, quality of life of pensioners, solidarity, social justice, equivalence and resilience of pension reform in time is also emphasised. Theoretical bases include the theory of path dependency, the theory of institutionalism, the welfare state theory, the theory of corporatism and the criterion anchoring of the reform. The present thesis applies the method of analysis of secondary data and the method of comparative analysis. To obtain secondary data, methods of document and data record searching are utilised.
Health care system development from the perspective of citizens

Diploma thesis "Health care system development from the perspective of citizens" deals with the current state of Czech healthcare system, how is perceived by the citizens who are the target population of health policy and the main goal of health system is to improve their health. The main goal of this thesis is to find out, if the current state of Czech healthcare system meets with the requirements of citizens, having regard to the citizen's information and compared with the expectations. Qualitative and quantitative research methods (questionnaire, expert and semi structured interviews) were used to achieve the objectives. Theoretical and empirical part of the thesis is focused on the wider context of the role of citizens in the society and enforcement and respect of their human rights. There is emphasized the participation of citizens on health policy and importance of the human rights related to health in the thesis. Results of the survey show the lack of awareness of the human rights related to health and of news in healthcare that does not allow effective participation on creation and implementation of health policy and fulfillment of the role and responsibilities of the state in enforcement of the public interest. Support for families caring for children with Asperger's syndrom

Bakalářská práce PODPORA RODIN DĚTÍ S ASPERGERVÝM SYNDROMEM Kateřina Rábová ABSTRACT This thesis aims to describe the support the state offers to families with children who have been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Asperger syndrome is an lighter form of autism. Individuals with this diagnosis often fail to communicate with external environment and have difficulty in establishing social relationships, which can often lead to their social exclusion. It is therefore important for these individuals and their families to receive some support from the state. The thesis therefore first describes how such support should be carried out, specifically what principles should be reflected, how they should be set, and all that based on the Life Course theory. The thesis further describes recent available form of social support for this target group. The thesis step by step elaborated contributions and social services that can families of children with Asperger syndrome use and conditions of their use. In conclusion, on the basis of data obtained from the research work of the author of this thesis, is shown how the social assistance for families looks in practice and how it assess these families themselves.
Childhood obesity as a social threat in the context of chidren's education to a healthy lifestyle at primary schools (in the city of Bílina)

This dissertation is focused on currently one of the most burning social problem - childhood obesity in Czech Republic. We have tried to find out a childhood prevalence obesity, its causes, social risks and expected dangers and we evaluated possible solutions for the prevention of obesity. A research problem of the thesis is the growing prevalence of childhood obesity in the Czech Republic in the context of developing its ineffectively controlled determinant. Our research targets on children, more precisely said on pupils of four primary schools (in the Bílina city). Among the objectives of the thesis belongs a pupil categorization according to BMI (body mass index). A principal goal is an evaluation of level of support for children to a healthy lifestyle by primary schools. Data have been collected from the children themselves, as well as from the school management and the respective school founder (city or region). The results of the research point out that a prevalence of childhood obesity (for a sample of the pupils of bílina's primary schools) corresponds to the current development and proportional representation of overweight and obesity in our country. Concept of continuum of care for people with intellectual disabilities in sheltered housing

The diploma thesis concentrates on the issues linked to continuity and availability of social services for the users of sheltered housing from the perspective of social service providers. The main objective of the thesis is to determine the ways in which the continuity and availability of the social services are ensured for this target group in the city of Usti nad Labem. Using of specific research questions will show how the social users are involved in formal networks in the area of social services, how these networks are created and how the collaboration between individual social service providers functions. The thesis can be labeled a case study of the city of Usti nad Labem. Two concepts were chosen as the main theoretical and value bases - the concept of continuum of care, and the concept of quality of life. The thesis is based on current trends in social services, such as deinstitutionalization and transformation of social services, or the use of case management as a tool for managing the continuum of care. Specialized education of general practitioner for children and adolescents in the Czech Republic

This dissertation" Specialized education in the field of practitioners for children and adolescents in the Czech Republic " focuses on the development of specialized postgraduate medical uducation in the context of social change in the Czech Republic after 1989 and their impact on staffing in the field of health care practitioners for children and adolescents . The first part describes the theoretical and factual basis , which is closely related to the issues . These concepts explained the functioning and development of the health system, providing primary care by practitioners for children and adolescents, impact of transformation of the labor market and human resources in health care and human rights in health care. To analyze the empirical part of the thesis i used the method of historical institutional analysis. Crisis of czech welfare state, its reform and impact on changing quality of life of people of retirement age

The author valorizes also his practical experiences of a left-oriented politician and first results from sociological research has set an objective to check two hypotheses: 1) that in the conditions of global capitalism development to save and fully revitalize the social state in his conception of a factor that is not only mitigating urgent social inequalities, but also raise the society and cultivates the human being, 2) that in the process of capitalist crises and the crises of a social state, senior citizens living from their pensions belong to the most threatened social groups. Methodologically the author claims to belong to modern Marxism and critically demarcate himself both from stalinism as well as from the recent official ideology, above all neoliberalism. The author refuses also the attempts to equate Marxism and the policy of KSČM to the ideology of the past governing class of controlling apparatus and comprehend the KSČM as a party disguised as Stalinist, anti human and non-democratic and in agreement with the program of this party that it represent in the Parliament of Czech Republic belongs to the self- managed socialism as a long-term objective of a societal transformation.
