Chalupová, Zuzana ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Pánek, David (referee)
Title: Evaluation of the spasticity level in wheelchair bound individuals, observing movement in a virtual reality environment Objective: Investigate whether people watching movement in virtual reality, experience changes in the level of spasticity due to intervention of the therapeutic programme. Methods: A pilot study was orchestrated with probands diagnosed with spastic paraplegia due to an incomplete spinal cord lesion. Seven probands have partaken in the study (5 men and 2 women) aged 49 ± 8 years. All probands were clients of Centrum Paraple, where they have been undergoing a regular rehabilitation programme. In addition to their regular programme they have undergone a virtual reality therapeutic programme, where each intervention consisted of 10 minutes spent in a therapeutic virtual environment. 3 probands resigned after the first intervention. Interventions were organized into 5 consecutive days. The levels of spasticity were evaluated by a modified Tardieu scale on plantar flexors of both ankles and knee joints of both lower limbs. Furthermore, a modified, subjective spasticity scale was created in order to observe individual, subjective inputs of each proband. Using this scale, probands evaluated their feelings towards individual spasticity changes on a scale 1-10 (0 = no spasticity, 10...

Title: Evaluation of the spasticity level in wheelchair bound individuals, observing movement in a virtual reality environment Objective: Investigate whether people watching movement in virtual reality, experience changes in the level of spasticity due to intervention of the therapeutic programme. Methods: Two case studies were orchestrated, both of probands diagnosed with spastic paraplegia due to an incomplete spinal cord lesion. Both probands did undergo a therapeutic programme in virtual reality, where each intervention consisted of 30 minutes in said programme. Interventions were organised in 10 consecutive days in the case of the first proband and 5 consecutive days in the case of the second. The levels of spasticity before and after each intervention were taken into account and evaluated by a modified Tardieu scale on plantar flexors of both ankle and knee joints of both lower limbs. Furthermore, a modified, subjective spasticity scale was created in order to observe individual, subjective inputs of each proband. Using this scale, probands evaluated their feelings towards individual spasticity changes on a scale 1-10 (0 = no spasticity, 10 = unbearable spasticity sensations). This evaluation took place before and after each individual intervention. Results: Seven hypotheses were defined in...

Title: Chages of FVC among cerebral-palsy-diagnosed para swimmers in various types of training Objectives : The aim of the thesis was to find out how significant is the VC value's change after various types of training among six para swimmers diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Methods: Six PARA PLAVÁNÍ PRAHA swimmers participated in the study with the age ranging from 22 to 37 years old. The personal spirometer was used to obtain all the data during athlete's training. We measured the data in three different training types' subgroups. Each swimmer was measured six times, two times during each phase of the training which in total lasted 30 minutes. Results: We measured the values of FVC and FEV1 of all the probands during different types of training. The values in technical training ranged from 3,13 to 7,51 litres in the FVC and 3,13 to 4,68 litres in FEV1. Furthermore we can clearly see the increase of the average FVC value by 16,1% and decrease of the FEV1 value by 3,4%. During the aerobic training the values of 2,66 to 6,11 litres FVC and 2.63 to 4,6 litres FEV1 were achieved. After the training the decrease by 1,1 % and the increase by 3,7 % in average can be seen respectively. During anaerobic training we measured the FVC values from 3,04 to 7,25 litres and only the 0,02 % increase and the FEV1...

The exercise program included exercise three times a week: once a week one-hour strength training and one-hour aerobic group training, and at least once a week home intervention. Results: In...
Relationship of quality of life and hardiness, relisience and grit in parahockey and wheelchair rugby players
Jiskrová, Markéta ; Daďová, Klára (advisor) ; Pavlová, Ilona (referee)
anglicky Objectives: This thesis aims to investigate whether we can predict the general and sport- specific quality of life of athletes with physical disabilities based on selected positive psychological constructs (resilience, hardiness and grit). Method: Forty players of para ice-hockey and wheelchair rugby (of which only two were women) underwent this study. The data were obtained by a questionnaire, compiled by Professor Martin from Wayne State University, which contains six parts: general information, life satisfaction, grit, resilience, sports engagement and hardiness. The "translation and reverse translation" method was used to translate the questionnaire. We used the statistical program IBM SPSS 2200 to analyze the obtained data. Results: Life satisfaction can be best predicted on the basis of hardiness (R = 0.686), but also resilience (R = 0.496) and grit (R = 0.340). We can predict sports engagement only based on resilience (R = 0.374). We recommend searching for other possible positive constructs that could better predict sports engagement. Key words: quality of life, sport engagement, life satisfaction, resilience, hardiness, grit, para ice hockey, wheelchair rugby
