Thermodynamics turboprop engines
Halama, Tadeáš ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This research deals with issues of turboprop engines from the perspective of thermodynamics. In introduction, the reader is familiar with history of aircrafts engines. Furthermore, this work presents a comparison of piston and turboprop engines. In this section also describes the working principle of these engines and their main characteristics and advantages. The main third part focused on the thermodynamics of the turboprop engine, mainly in terms of the algorithm for calculation. This work is also included deduce formula for tensile strength of turboprop engine. The last part describes current trends in the design and construction of aircraft propulsion units, together with the advantages of turboprop engine.
Energy simulation of solar collectors operation in a low-energy family house with warm-air heating
Pech, Ondřej ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Jaroš, Michal (advisor)
The thesis deals with energy simulation of a solar energy system in a low-energy family house with warm-air heating. The simulations performed resulted in the assessment of the energy contribution of four solar systems with different types of collectors. The profitability and return of investment for the particular system have been evaluated based on investment costs and the savings gained. The theoretical part includes an introduction to the solar energy field, solar panel systems and the passive house concept. The practical part is devoted to description of the simulated object models as used in the TRNSYS environment, the simulation results evaluation along with the assessment of the economic return on investment. The conclusion recommendations regarding a suitable type and size of the solar panel with respect to the economic criteria chosen are given.
Radiating shield for sensor outdoor temperature
Janáček, Adam ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis mentions methods for outside temperature measurement; each of this method is briefly described. Principles of outside temperature measurement, regarding placing of the temperature sensor, are shown. Importance of use of radiation shield for more precise measurement is pointed out. Radiation shield’s function and construction of aspirated and self-aspirated shield, as well as their main advantages and disadvantages are described. Market research then shows radiation shields made by their main manufacturers, each shield is briefly described. Two radiation shields, aspirated and self-aspirated, are designed, with respect to simple construction and knowledge gained during market research
Alternative fuel for internal combustion engines for commercial vehicles
Snášel, Pavel ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
The liquid petroleum fuels, gasoline and diesel, have gradually enforced during the development of thermal machines. Because these fuels are non-renewable and their usage is joined with many ecological and economical problems, we face the task how to replace these dominating fuels. The purpose of this thesis is to summarize and compare the properties of alternative fuels, especially their heating value, and sketch the supposed progress of their usage in transportation.
Warm air heating
Brázda, Jan ; Hejčík, Jiří (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
BRÁZDA Jan: Warm air heating The aim of this bachelor thesis is elaboration the different ways of hot air in buildings and then make a comparison with other methods of heating buildings.
Ventilation and heating in a retrofitted two-story family house
Minařík, Petr ; Štětina, Josef (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
The thesis deals with the calculation of the design heat load of a reconstructed family house and the design of both the space heating system and the balanced ventilation system for the house. The determination of the design heat load was performed according to ČSN EN 12831 technical standard. A low-temperature hydronic heating system was chosen for space heating of the house. The thesis describes the design of the system including calculations and the technical drawings. A heat source for the heating system was chosen with regard to the requirements of the investor. A mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery was proposed for house ventilation. The thesis contains the design of the ventilation system including calculations and the technical drawings.
HVAC in a production plant
Černík, Václav ; Hejčík, Jiří (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with heating and HVAC in production plant ELMET, spol. s r.o. The first part of the thesis concerns reconstruction of the central heating system, which is outdated and unreliable in the time of the writing of the thesis. The second part deals with cooling of mounting of electronics, where technological requirements are not met due to summer overheating. The third part of the thesis concerns ventilation of metalworking hall using waste heat from production machines.
Temperature sensors
Hlatký, Pavel ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This work deals with questions of temperature sensors. Definition of the fundamental terms and separation of temperature sensors with electrical measured variable output according to physical principle is included. Location of technical and price optimal indoors temperature sensors are executed in the other part of bachelor’s thesis. During making this piece were used literature of temperature sensors and the internet sources.
Latent heat thermal storage in solar air systems
Súkup, Tomáš ; Janírek, Martin Stanislav (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
In this paper an overview is prepared for the possibility of heat accumulation in the use of heating and hot water. In the next section is designed heat accumulator uses PCM materials for solar air system. Its properties are experimentally verified.
Mathematical optimization of a solar photovoltaic system for a single-family detached home
Bah, Sheikh Omar ; Klimeš, Lubomír (referee) ; Charvát, Pavel (advisor)
This paper presents a mathematical sizing algorithms of a stand alone and grid-connected photovoltaic-battery system for a residential house. The objective is to minimize the total storage capacity with cost of electricity. The proposed methodology is based on a Linear and Non-linear programming involving a real data collected through one year with reference to Hradec Kralove meteorological data and typical load profile in Czech Republic. The algorithm jointly optimizes the sizes of the photovoltaic and the battery systems by adjusting the battery charge and discharge cycles according to the availability of solar resource and a time-of-use tariff structure for electricity. The results show that jointly optimizing the sizing of battery and photovoltaic systems can significantly reduce electricity imports and the cost of electricity for the household. However, the optimal capacity of such photovoltaic battery varies strongly with the electricity consumption profile of the household, and is also affected by electricity and battery prices.
