Analysis of the benefits of the information system

The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the benefits of the information system of an important food manufacturer. The main aim is to analyse the benefits of the information system -- something which has yet to happen. The analysis of the information system should provide a recommendation for the company, which will include an evaluation of the strong and weak aspects of the system. Highlighting the strong and weak aspects should help the company perfect the system, provide a competitive advantage, increased profits and an improved company image. The secondary aim is to inform the reader about the system, understand its functionality, describe the metrics used for analysis and the choice of methods employed. The aims of the theoretical section will be achieved through analysis of internal documentation and electronic sources. The analysis of the benefits will be carried out using "historical" data obtained from the reporting system, database or internal documentation. The use of this work lies principally in its highlighting of the positive and negative effects of the system. The work can also help students or company employees understand the functionality of the real system and to broaden their current knowledge.
Analysis of ICT/IS innovations

This thesis focuses on innovations and ICT/IS innovations in detail. It is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The author of the thesis sets himself two main objectives. First one is to define the basic innovation and ICT/IS innovation theory. Second one is to conduct research among selected companies and analyze its results. From mined data the author tries to identify a group of companies successful in innovation projects, define best innovation practices as a key to success and analyze the ICT/IS innovations impact on the other innovation types. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is aimed at definition of information system and its relevance to company's competitiveness. The multidimensional view of IS is also highlighted. The author describes the Schumpeter's Theory of Innovation and contributions of his followers. In addition to information system's definition this part focuses also on innovation management and innovation strategy, as well as on author's own experience with innovation projects. Final section of the theoretical part describes different types of ICT/IS innovations and their definition. The impacts of ICT/IS innovation on other types of innovation is also discussed. Second part of the thesis is practical one and deals with research which was carried out among a set of selected companies. Prior to results evaluation, The author defines several theses (as a reflection his expectation from research). These theses are grouped into following categories: effects and return of ICT/IS investment, ICT/IS innovation strategic management and the importance of ICT/IS innovation in innovation cycle. As a part of the analysis the author compare above mentioned theses to gained research results. Finally, there is the executive summary containing key recommendations and best practices for successful ICT/IS innovation activities. Main contribution of the thesis may be seen in the description of companies' approach to innovations and identification of a group of companies applying innovations successfully in practice.
Analysis of MS Dynamics AX 2009 functionality and its technological parameters

This diploma thesis deals with Enterprise Resource Planning system Microsoft Dynamics AX2009 from theoretical but also practical point of view. Introductory chapters present MS Dynamics AX2009 on global market of ERP and within Microsoft Dynamics family products. Following chapters are concerned with implementation of this system and answering various questions, like why to implement MS Dynamics AX, where to find partner for implementation, how does implementation of information system proceed and from which MS Dynamics AX licence packages enterprise can be chosen. Practical part demostrates relations between modules of the system and describes functionality of selected modules. For easier understanding functionalities of the system are presented in a way that combines theoretical information with practical examples in Dynamics AX2009 system. After viewing this thesis, reader should have compact insight of MS Dynamics AX2009.
e-Gvernment - analysis and trends in public administration

Analysis is divided into two parts -- theoretical part contains legislation in eGovernment and possibilities which can eGovernment offer to inhabitants. Second part is focused on research of electronic services which are located on the web sites of public services. The main gain of this work is assembly of the most important services in eGovernment.
ritical success factors of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises

The topic of this diploma thesis is "Critical success factors of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems in Small and Medium Sized Enterprises" Firstly, the terms enterprise resource planning system, small and medium sized enterprise and critical factor are defined. Part of this thesis is also dedicated to the importance of those systems in small and medium sized enterprises and the supply of products on the market is described as well. The importance of enterprise resource planning systems for this segment of customers is still growing and the number of products offered is quite wide. Customers have unambiguously preferred Czech solutions. Next part of the thesis contains critical factors literature search -- analysis of two studies. Conceptual model of critical factors is made on the basis of findings and comparison of those two studies. The relevance of this model is verified by the analysis of case studies of enterprise resource planning system implementations in small and medium sized enterprises. These case studies were downloaded from websites of system vendors. On the basis of new findings, new model was designed. Each critical factor is described in each part of the thesis to help understand under which circumstances it was used. Finally, the model is assessed.

This diploma thesis is focused on description and objective analysis of social networks on internet. History of internet social networks, basic principles they work on and psychological aspects are shown in this thesis. One of the parts of my work is dedicated to monetization methods and techniques of social networks in context of internet. An objective view on problems of virtual societies provides an abstract of the methods of their resolving. There is no in any case an ambition for this thesis to be the greatest social networking analysis, but it proviedes well structured summary of a lot of theoretical and practical knowledge, which could certainly serve as valuable base for further deeper research. The most beneficial added valut of this thesis is a comprehensive insight on social networks from different points of view: theoretical, psychological and practical. Theoretical knowledge from psychology and sociology sciences are enriched with examples from real life. This thesis brings an outline of modern trends, which makes possible to predict future development.
Effects and benefits of information systems

This diploma thesis deal with benefits of information systems (IS) in companies. It contains of theoretical and practical parts. The main goals of this thesis are to analyze the real information system in SUDOP PRAHA a.s. company and to draw up changeovers in this system and its driving with the main focus to raise benefits of IS. The nearby goals in theoretical part are: to identify the main potential benefits which can be reached using IS and to identify conditions and limitations to which companies have to impeach and which are crucial to maximize the benefits of IS. Theoretical part goes from available literature and electronic resources analysis. Practical part is based on consultations with SUDOP PRAHA a.s. employees and on information provided by developers of their information systems. The benefit of my diploma thesis is in the problematic parts of IS in SUDOP PRAHA a.s. identification. When the company eliminates these problems and enlarge its IS in the parts I suggest, their benefits of this IS should rise. These recommendations are definitely applicable to other specific information systems in nonmanufacturing companies, mainly design, consulting and engineering companies. This thesis could work as the base view of information systems and their driving issue. This fast view is useful for organizations, which haven't any information system yet or whose information system doesn't work great.
Electronic invoicing and related processes in ERP information systems

Thesis readers familiar with the issue of electronic billing in small and medium-sized companies and provide an overview of the various formats and communication channels, which in the deployment of electronic invoicing can be used. In each chapter set out in detail the advantages and disadvantages of different formats and channels of communication. In the practical part of thesis describes a solution of electronic invoicing and the potential risks in the implementation and operation of electronic invoicing. The theoretical part of thesis draws primarily from articles and is accompanied by actual observations of Internet magazines. The theoretical part should provide the reader with a comprehensive picture of the Czech market with the information systems like ERP and should acquaint the reader briefly is the history of ERP systems. Practical thesis describes the solutions implemented in a real company, their advantages, disadvantages and pitfalls. These solutions should serve the reader in the formation of ideas about how to access these issues and to highlight the factors that the theoretical part may not be noticeable.
Web 2.0 Application

The goal of this document is to describe one of trends of Web 2.0 - web appliacation hybrids or mashup applications. It briefly describes types of mashups and how they work. First chapter introduces reader into term Web 2.0 which led to creation of mashup applications. It also describes basic terms and the term mashup itself. Second part discusses possibilities of profit on mixing differnet web services from differnet points of view. What it can bring to creators of mashup applications and also to API providers. Third part gives an overview of communication protocols usually used to communicate. Described protocols are REST, XML-RPC, SOAP, Javascript APIs and screen scraping. The goal of this section is to give the reader basic knowledge of them for further studying. Next part introduces sample application created for purpose of this work. It is a connection of Czech internet photo-sharing service rajče.net and social network Facebook. Fifth part focuses to introducing some tools for automatic creation of data mashup applications. It picks three products - Openkapow Robots, Yahoo! Pipes and Dapper, and describes their features and how to use them. Last part is a summary of current situation in Czech Republic.
