Microbial transplantation and its effect on the course of ulcerative colitis
Březina, Jan ; Drastich, Pavel (advisor) ; Šťovíček, Jan (referee) ; Janoštiak, Radoslav (referee)
The complex etiopathogenesis of idiopathic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) remains unclear, with one of the main suspected causes being the dysregulation of mucosal immunity in response to specific components of the gut microbiome. This dissertation investigates the potential of faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) as an innovative therapeutic intervention aimed at modifying the microbiome and influencing the course of IBD. FMT, involving the transfer of stool from a healthy donor to the patient, has proven highly effective in the treatment of recurrent Clostridioides difficile colitis, where it is already considered a standard therapeutic procedure. However, in relation to IBD, FMT remains an experimental method, predominantly used in clinical studies. Current systematic reviews indicate that the effect of FMT on ulcerative colitis (UC) is variable, both in terms of achieving remission and clinical response. Recent randomized controlled trials for UC, in accordance with our presented data, show a mild to moderate effect of FMT in this indication. The effectiveness of FMT is influenced by a range of factors, particularly the correct selection of donor or donors, the diversity of their microbiome, methods of application, and frequency of administration. In the case of Crohn's disease, the data...

Evolution of link layer loop prevention protocols
Březina, Jiří ; Frolka, Jakub (referee) ; Slavíček, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the possibility of eliminating and creation loops on theData Link layer of the OSI model. At first, it was necessary to determine what arethe loops and how they are formed. Then the solution of the problem with loops waspresented as the Spanning Tree protocol, where did the protocol come from, protocoloperation, his advantages and disadvantages. In next section were discussed other vari-ants of original STP, as well as his alternatives, like for example the TRILL or the SPBprotocol. The practical part of this work is based on the theoretical and shows howSpanning Tree protocols work in practice on real devices. This part is mainly focusedto testing the speed of convergence each of protocols and also their extensions. In theend is mentioned a laboratory task, which is part of the appendices and forms the mainbenefit of the whole thesis, because future students at school subject “network architec-ture” can try to configure protocols that was mentioned above and better understandhow these protocols work.
Energy Assessment
Březina, Jan ; Maurerová, Lenka (referee) ; Horák, Petr (advisor)
The first part of the final thesis is focused on the use of thermovision for diagnosing defects and failures in building industry. Documented history, physical principles and conditions for the measuring of thermographic camera are described in this part. Thermal images of the object described below were used for demonstrating the defects. The second part is dedicated to the elaborated energy assessment for a nine-storey slab block building. In total, there are five energy economic measures developed for the building. Three of those are of structural character and two of those are for building equipment. There are two variants designed based on the measures, one of which is recommended and evalu-ated. The final section is focused on the measurement of slab block building indoor environment (CO2, air temperature, relative humidity, dew point) and its assessment in concern with the current legislation.
Time progression of metrological characteristics of electromagnetic current meters
Březina, Jiří ; Brázda, Martin (referee) ; Žoužela, Michal (advisor)
This experimental diploma thesis investigates the changes in the metrological characteristics of the electromagnetic current meter of velocity. The theoretical part of the thesis includes a brief summary of technical and metrological characteristics of these types of devices. In addition, it describes the tested device, the test track, and the measurement procedure, which consists of two variants: long-term monitoring with a relatively regular monthly measurement interval and short-term monitoring with a regular daily measurement interval. The evaluation of the experimental work focuses on the repeatability and variability of the displayed point speed values and their stability over time. Furthermore, the parameters reported by the meter during long-term and short-term monitoring are compared to each other. The results are also compared with similar experiments.
Design of additively manufactured oil-water heat exchanger for formula student
Březina, Josef ; Dočekalová, Kateřina (referee) ; Koutný, Daniel (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with a design and manufacture of oil cooler by technology Selective Laser Melting for Formula Student. The main goal of the design is to ensure optimal oil circuit cooling at a minimal mass. The design of manufactured oil cooler is based on a plate heat exchanger concept with optimized intakes by CFD simulations and heat exchange body with fins of thickness 0.17 mm. An analytical model was created. SLM process parameters were optimized for a thin walls printing, Subsequently, a fabrication of testing parts was finished for measuring pressure drops and performances of micro heat exchangers. Results were used for an accuracy improvement of the analytical model and for consequent optimization of heat exchange surface. Afterwards optimization was executed for inlets and outlets by using flow simulations. A prototype was built and verified on a test stand. Performance of the designed oil cooler is 4.5 kW for race mode, where temperature drop of oil circuit is 22 °C. The lightweight design weighs 320 g, which reduces more than 47 % of a current oil-air cooler weight. Furthermore, a centre of gravity is decreased by designed placement of the cooler.
