Factor analysis of somatotype
Kovariančrú matice a příslušné asymptotické kovariance byly vypočteny pomocí programu PRELIS, Výsledky: Nebyl nalezen model, který by podporoval Sheldonovu teorii o stanoverú somatotypu. Z deseti stanovených indikátorů somatotypu bylo možno identifikovat pouze 2-faktorovou strukturu. Klíčová slova: Somatotyp, strukturální modelování, metodika H - C
Diagnostics of Coordination Abilities in Football
Zoubek, Václav ; Štochl, Jan (advisor) ; Suchý, Jiří (referee)
Evaluation of Body Composition of Soccer Players
Tvaroh, Miroslav ; Štochl, Jan (advisor) ; Chytráčková, Jitka (referee)
Název: Hodnocení tělesného složení hráčů fotbalu. Title: Evaluation of body composition of soccer players.
Comparative study of coordination in 7 to 9 years old children
Hrdinová, Martina ; Štochl, Jan (advisor) ; Panská, Šárka (referee)
Title: Comparative study coordination skills in children from 7- 9 years Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to determine whether development of coordination capacity occurs within ordinary physical education hours, or if it is more effective to apply coordination training within physical education, or attend the general preparation of the youngest hockey players who have two times per week training of ice hockey and extra hours of physical education in primary education. Metods: The study consists of n=60 students from the elementary school. We evaluated coordination abilities within three months period. Testing was carried out during physical education classes. Results: Statistically significant change in coordination abilities was detected in children who attended physical education classes where coordination training was applied. There was no significant change in a other groups of children. Keywords: Coordination abilities, development, younger school age

Motivation in sport: Relationship to global self-esteem and physical self-perception
Harbichová, Ivana ; Slepička, Pavel (advisor) ; Štochl, Jan (referee) ; Pavelková, Isabella (referee)
The main objective of this thesis is to verify the relationship of the contextually specific motivation in sport to a global self-esteem and possible mediation effects of the physical self-perceptions in this relationship. To achieve this objective six individual studies were conducted. First, we focused on the translation of diagnostic instruments: the Sport Motivation Scale (SMS; Pelletier et al., 1995) and the Social Physique Anxiety Scale (SPAS; Hart, Leary, Rejeski, 1989) into the Czech language. Next, the validity and reliability of the scores obtained by Czech versions of the instruments were examined. Based on the results of the structural equation modeling and using a known-difference evidence validity approach we concluded that both translated instruments may be useful as a valid and reliable diagnostic tools for measuring different kinds of motivation in sport (SMS) and negative physical self-perception (social physical anxiety - SPAS). Using structural equation modeling, we also concluded that different types of motivation in sport (which vary in degree of relative autonomy of the subject) affect specific self-esteem associated with the body, as well as the evaluation of one's self at the global level. Relationship of the sport motivation and the global self-esteem was largely mediated...
Computerized Adaptive Testing In Kinanthropology: Monte Carlo Simulations Using The Physical Self Description Questionnaire
Komarc, Martin ; Štochl, Jan (advisor) ; Martinková, Patrícia (referee) ; Scheier, Lawrence (referee)
This thesis aims to introduce the use of computerized adaptive testing (CAT) - a novel and ever increasingly used method of a test administration - applied to the field of Kinanthropology. By adapting a test to an individual respondent's latent trait level, computerized adaptive testing offers numerous theoretical and methodological improvements that can significantly advance testing procedures. In the first part of the thesis, the theoretical and conceptual basis of CAT, as well as a brief overview of its historical origins and basic general principles are presented. The discussion necessarily includes the description of Item Response Theory (IRT) to some extent, since IRT is almost exclusively used as the mathematical model in today's CAT applications. Practical application of CAT is then evaluated using Monte-Carlo simulations involving adaptive administration of the Physical Self-Description Questionnaire (PSDQ) (Marsh, Richards, Johnson, Roche, & Tremayne, 1994) - an instrument widely used to assess physical self-concept in the field of sport and exercise psychology. The Monte Carlo simulation of the PSDQ adaptive administration utilized a real item pool (N = 70) calibrated with a Graded Response Model (GRM, see Samejima, 1969, 1997). The responses to test items were generated based on item...
