Provenance Determination of Marbles: A Methodology Based on a Complex Analytical Approach

This PhD thesis is focused on methodology for the provenance determination of marbles from historic quarries and marble artefacts, respectively. Various petrographic, geochemical, and physical data were compiled to distinguish among different marble types, as well as to explore the suitability and limits of experimental techniques for such provenance studies. Moreover, by comparing the data obtained with the results from the artefacts the importance of the selected methodology was tested in detail. The correct determination of the source locality for marbles represents a difficult task, due mainly to both the variable characteristics of marbles coming from any one locality; and the converse, the similarity in properties between samples from different areas. Facing this complex situation, a multivariate approach proved to be necessary. Most of the previous analytical studies on marble provenance have been conducted on pure white marbles from the Mediterranean area where the methodology, based upon a combination of various mineralogical-petrographic and chemical criteria, was originally established. Graph-based molecular representation and its utilization in virtual screening

Graphs are natural way of representing molecules. However, graph representations and algorithms are not being used for finding similarity of molecules in virtual screening. In this work we test the graph-based methods in ligand-based virtual screening. The similarity of molecular graphs is determined by maximum common subgraph and graph edit distance. We use implementations fmcs from chemoinformatic library RDKit for maximum common subgraph and GraphMatchingToolkit from K.Riesen to determine graph edit distance. We have found suitable combinations of parameters for aplication in ligand-based virtual screening. The results suggest that performance of graph based methods is comparable to the state-of-the-art methods.

The reverse charge procedure and its future

The subject of this thesis is particularly the issue of domestic reverse charge procedure as a tool in the fight against tax evasion on value added tax (VAT) and its planned expansion. The reverse charge is not the only tool in the fight against evasion of VAT in the Czech Republic. The thesis therefore analyzed and used other tools. These instruments are inspection report, institute an unreliable payer, liability for unpaid VAT and EET. In conclusion, there is the comparison of individual instruments.

The Importance and Impact of the Antimonopoly Office in the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to describe the functions of the Office for the Protection of Competition and to verify its practical effectiveness on the basis of statistical data relating to the solves cases, mainly from 2009-2014. The theoretical part describes the history of the competition, defines the terms >>relevant market<< and >>competitor,<< briefly describes theoretically individual competition distortions, briefly describes the Office for the Protection of Competition and the legislation that applies to the issue. Specific illustrative cases of the activity of the office in the field of prohibited agreements, abuse of dominance and mergers of competition are gradually analyzed.

Using of Llamas in Agroturism and Zootherapy

This thesis is focused on variability, opportunities and the use of llamas in business. The aim of this study is to desribe and analyse the issue, include and cover the legal standards required for use in practice and to desribe and compare the already operating businesses of this nature, as in Czech Republic, as in other countries. I focused primaly on aplication of the legislation of the Czech Republic into practise and on a wide range of options in usage and training of llamas for both healthy and handicaped clients. The benefit of this thesis is to outline all aspects relevant to the use of llamas, such as llamatrekking or llamatherapy.

Material analysis of natural stone - sedimentary and crystalline limestone ("marble") - exact laboratory methods as a tool to determine the source area

Metodika se zabývá hlavními postupy a analytickými rozbory, které lze využít k petrografickému a geochemickému popisu sedimentárních vápenců a mramorů, který poté slouží k určování jejich provenience. V metodice je diskutován rozsah použití jednotlivých metod pro popis sedimentárních a krystalických vápenců („mramorů“) a současné možnosti jejich petrografické klasifikace. Předkládaná metodika je určena pro oblast památkové péče, která využívá výsledků materiálových rozborů objektů kulturního dědictví – sochařských výtvarných děl, architektonických prvků a staveb, zhotovených ze sedimentárního nebo krystalického vápence. Výsledky, dosažené pomocí postupů, navržených v této metodice by měly přispět: (1) ke zpřesnění znalostí o materiálu; (2) ke sjednocení postupů, používaných při klasifikaci vápenců a mramorů; (3) k nalezení zdrojové lokality či alespoň oblasti, z níž byl přírodní kámen (vápenec a mramor) odebírán; (4) k hledání vhodného náhradního typu vápence nebo mramoru při nutnosti výměny; (5) k poznání vhodných postupů při restaurování objektů ze sedimentárního nebo krystalické vápence. Oblast využití této metodiky je tedy při předrestaurátorských materiálových průzkumech památek, na nichž byl použit příslušný typ přírodního kamene, tedy vápenec nebo mramor. Předložená metodika je určena širšímu okruhu specialistů, kteří se podílejí na předrestaurátorských materiálových průzkumech památek, nebo rozbor zadávají, či výsledky průzkumu potřebují pro volbu vhodné strategie restaurování. Metodika byla certifikována dne 28. 5. 2015, Osvědčení č. 34(č.j. MK 3363/2015 OVV; sp. zn. MK-S 115/2015 OVV).
