TV-Charity in the Czech republic

This thesis is a case study, which is focused on relationships and forms of cooperation between non-profit organizations doing charity, and Czech Television. The main methods of data gathering in this work are semi-structured interviews with selected stakeholders. One respondent from the Czech TV and five representatives of different NGOs participated in the research. According to the theory of agenda-setting and the concept of gate keeping the aim of this study is to find out how NGOs get on the TV screen. Part of this thesis is devoted to the specification of various form of cooperation between Czech television and different non-profit organizations. Also there is an an assessment of the current situation from the perspective of both sides. In the final summary there are the crucial findings and discussion devoted to problematic issues in the cooperation of Czech Television and nonprofit organizations.

Abstract The thesis is focused on the quality management in the healthcare organizations. Quality management is perceived as a process or a set of processes, which are coordinated by a responsible person - a quality manager. The thesis summarizes the expert theoretical knowledge about the historical development of the quality requirements, about the quality management systems in healthcare and it introduces the institutional framework of quality and safety in healthcare organizations in the Czech Republic. The emphasis is especially given to the profile and job description of quality managers. The objective of this thesis is to create a professional and personal profile of quality managers working at the Czech university hospitals. The method of data collection used is semi structured interview. Public Policy to Prevent Childhood Obesity and the Role of Food Production and Marketing

This thesis is a case study focused on a relationship between public policy to prevent childhood obesity and the role of the food production and marketing in the Czech Republic. The emphasis is especially given to the institutional framework of food marketed and produced for children and its social concequences, because childhood obesity is one of them. The results from the analysis are then confronted with views and opinions of children and their parents, with how they feel about food advertising. Conclusion: advertising and production of food designated for children is not regulated in the Czech Republic. On governmental level only basic standards and rules are given and self-regulation is given precedence. Parents are aware of the huge influence of advertising on their children and that is why they are not satistied with the current situation. They would appreciate stronger legislative regulation of marketing and production of food for children.

Why does the United States spend more on its health care than other coutries?

This thesis will be an institutional analysis of histrical development of the health care system in the United States of America since 1930s. Within the analysis a huge emphasis will be given to the potencial influence of the american political culture and the specific legislative process in the United States. The theoretical approach used in this thesis is the historical institutionalism together with the concept called path dependecy. The main aim of this final thesis is to identify crucial events determining or having any influence on the present form of the health care system in the US and to find the possible causes having an effect on the amount of the total health care expenditures
