Risk Management of Grant Projects
Páleníková Fialová, Kateřina ; Hovorka, Martin (referee) ; Juřica, Pavel (advisor)
The subject of the thesis is to carry out a risk analysis and proposals for introducing risk measures in a project from a higher education environment, which is supported by a grant program: Operational Programme Research, Development and Education. The main topic of this thesis is the solution of possible situations that the project team can encounter during the implementation of projects and which can negatively affect the projects.
Heat dissipation axially-cooled glassmaking
Hovorka, Martin ; Pospíšil, Jiří (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The presented thesis deals with a numerical simulation of axially cooled glassmaking parison. Several types of cooling channels have been investigated according to its usage in glassmaking process. Software Star CCM+ was used to describe properties throughout the channels and also the parison itself. The main focus of this thesis lies in comparing of temperature fields, cooling effects and cooling intensity among the chosen channel designs. The boundary condi-tions were kept the same accordingly to glassmaking conditions for every design. Some out-puts were transferred to non-dimensional diagrams in order to recalculation pursuant to other boundary conditions. Properties of diffuser channel designs were compared to an experiment. Transient temperature field of the parison were calculated with Ansys APDL in order to de-termine the accumulation and stationary zone of the parison and to verify the boundary conditions for cooling channels.
Porosity increasing agents for supercapacitors
Hovorka, Martin ; Dvořák, Petr (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
This work deals with questions connected with ultracapactors and lightening agents of activated carbon used for production of supercapacitors’s electrodes. Our goal was examination of ideal ratio of carbon and lightening agent in surveyed electrode. Materials which were used: expanded graphite, soda saleratus, ammonium bicarbonate and ammonium formate. Specimens were measured by cyclic voltammetry. The best results was reached by using of soda saleratus with ideal ratio 1:0,5. During measurement was found that weight of electrode has basic effect on eventual capacity.
Materials for IV. generation power plants
Hovorka, Martin ; Svoboda, Pavel (referee) ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to describe material needs of chosen Generation IV nuclear reactors – VHTR, SCWR, and MSR with the emphasis on the VHTR. It describes the main principle and a constructional arrangement of VHTR components with its material demands. SCWR and MSR reactors are described in terms of its material requirements. The middle part of this thesis is dedicated to the available material candidate analysis. Main material properties are discussed and at the end of this part the suitability of chosen materials for a flange joint in VHTR heat exchanger is assessed. The last chapter (the practical part) is focused on an experimental proposal of changeability of older materials by the new ones using the electron beam welding method.

Carrier's Liability in International Carriage of Goods
Hovorka, Martin ; Pauknerová, Monika (advisor) ; Brodec, Jan (referee)
1 Abstract The diploma thesis is focused on the issue of the carrier's liability in the international carriage of goods. The topic is narrowed to the carriage by sea, being the most significant mode of carriage as regards the volume of carried goods; its international regulation is disunited and full of specifics justifying the need for a deeper analysis. Relevance of the topic consists in gradual establishment of new trends of transport, technological development and particularly in the continuing need for unification of the legal regulation. The objective of the thesis is to introduce and analyze the respective rules, to compare the rules with each other and to evaluate them. The first chapter is dedicated to a theoretical introduction containing a definition of the liability and providing basic information about transport, carriage and subjects and division thereof. Regulation of carriage according to the Czech law is comprised in this chapter as well. The second chapter is aimed at the carriage by sea in a broader context. This chapter deals with characteristics of this mode of carriage, especially as for division thereof, types of transport documents and typical subjects. Further, the basics of the Czech, European and international regulation of the carriage by sea are outlined. The third chapter is...
