Algorithm for automated building simplification using aggregation
Svobodová, Jana ; Bayer, Tomáš (advisor) ; Lysák, Jakub (referee)
Algorithm for automated building simplification using aggregation Abstract Diploma thesis deals with automated cartographic generalization. The main aim is to propose a new generalization algorithm for building aggregation. The first part brings summary of existing algorithms for building aggre- gation. Then the new algorithm is presented: at first, auxiliary data structu- res and algorithms are presented, then cartographic and geometric require- ments are defined. New algorithm is based on the principle of straight skeleton construction. Outer vertices are removed from constructed straight skeletons and those structures are aggregated. The aggregated polygon is reconstructed from ag- gregated structures. The second part is focused on implementation and results evaluation. The algorithm is implemented using open-source libraries CGAL, Boost and Shapelib. The results and confrontation with SW ArcGIS are discus- sed in conclusion of the thesis. 1
Geomorphological contour interpolation over triangulated irregular network
Morávek, Andrej ; Bayer, Tomáš (advisor) ; Čepek, Aleš (referee)
The aim of this master thesis is to create an application to generate smooth contours with the method of non-linear, so-called geomorphological interpolation over triangulated irregular network using patch technique. The introductory part consists of the state of art in the field of patch modelling and description of georelief in the form of digital terrain models. The core of the work comprises the mathematical background of Bézier triangle patches using barycentric coordinates and interpolation techniques with definition of continuity. The main contribution is a proper algorithm of balanced patch smoothing in order to generate smooth contours as form of georelief representation. Description of linear contour interpolation over triangulated irregular network as a method of indirect geomorphological interpolation is also part of the core. Finally, the last part describes the implementation of algorithms that forms the application, presents and evaluates the results on synthetic and real data.

The use of straight skeleton for the roof shape reconstruction from the laser scanning data
Ečer, Pavel ; Bayer, Tomáš (advisor) ; Lysák, Jakub (referee)
The objective of this study is to explore the methods used for automatic roof reconstruction so far and on the basis of this analysis purpose a methodology, which uses the geometric structure of Straight Skeleton for an initial approximation of the roof shape. In the first part of this thesis issues of automatic detection and extraction of building roof planes from laser scanning data are explored. Also, the Straight Skeleton is described in detail here and its potential for the construction of hip and saddle roofs is explained. An iterative approach which consists of deleting or moving appropriate points between roof planes using the principles of orthogonal regression is specified as an optimization method. In the second part of this thesis the proposed algorithm was implemented using CGAL (an open source library) and then it was tested on different data sets. In the very end, it is concluded that the use of the proposed algorithm on more complex types of roofs is inappropriate. The excellent results of the optimization of hip and saddle-shaped roof types are highlighted simultaneously.
Representation of time in cartographic works on the example of maps of historical battles
Vít, Lukáš ; Bláha, Jan Daniel (advisor) ; Bayer, Tomáš (referee)
Representation of time in cartographic works on the example of maps of historical battles Abstract This study contains an in-depth analysis of possible graphical presentation of the fourth cartographic dimension (time) and utilizes the acquired findings in prototypical animated maps of historical battles. The initial chapter reflects cartography in general, later, the area of animated maps is in focus. The first part of the text is dedicated to the connection of cartography and time. Practical means of time representation are described. Further, a recommended general pattern is specified for design and development of time legend, so that time presentation suits the nature of the depicted theme. Consecutively, this general pattern is applied to a set of pieces of cartographical work depicting (historical) battles. The tangible result of this work is an interactive cartographic animation presenting the battle of Gettysburg and preceding events. Keywords: time, cartography, temporal legend, animated map, battle
Concept of legal personality in Roman law
Bayer, Tomáš ; Bělovský, Petr (referee) ; Falada, David (advisor)
(resumé) The Concept of Legal Subjectivity in Roman law The goal of this thesis is to present the concept of legal subjectivity and legal capacity in Roman law and to demonstrate how this subject is connected with essential issues in Roman law such as citizenship, personal freedom and personal status. The first part of the thesis introduces the concept of legal subjectivity and offers definitions and descriptions of legal subjectivity and legal capacity provided by reputable legal experts and historians. The second part of the thesis focuses on the legal subjectivity of natural persons and consists of several chapters which further elaborate on specific subchapters to the main topic of the second part; specifically: citizenship, personal freedom, slavery and personal status in the Roman family. The concept of Capitis Deminutio, which is so specific to Roman law and non existent in modern legal systems, is also discussed in this part of the thesis. The second part also attempts to shed light on the abundantly discussed topic of the legal position of women in Roman society My endeavour was to point out that laws governing women, which would be considered discriminatory by today's lawyers, were functional and naturally accepted in Roman society. An explanation of the Roman legal institutions of...

Design of hardware cipher module
Bayer, Tomáš ; Stančík, Peter (referee) ; Sobotka, Jiří (advisor)
This diploma’s thesis discourses the cryptographic systems and ciphers, whose function, usage and practical implementation are analysed. In the first chapter basic cryptographic terms, symmetric and asymetric cryptographic algorithms and are mentioned. Also usage and reliability are analysed. Following chapters mention substitution, transposition, block and stream ciphers, which are elementary for most cryptographic algorithms. There are also mentioned the modes, which the ciphers work in. In the fourth chapter are described the principles of some chosen cryptographic algorithms. The objective is to make clear the essence of the algorithms’ behavior. When describing some more difficult algorithms the block scheme is added. At the end of each algorithm’s description the example of practical usage is written. The chapter no. five discusses the hardware implementation. Hardware and software implementation is compared from the practical point of view. Several design instruments are described and different hardware design programming languages with their progress, advantages and disadvantages are mentioned. Chapter six discourses the hardware implementation design of chosen ciphers. Concretely the design of stream cipher with pseudo-random sequence generator is designed in VHDL and also in Matlab. As the second design was chosen the block cipher GOST, which was designed in VHDL too. Both designs were tested and verified and then the results were summarized.
