The hospital of the Holy Spirit in Krnov in 14th to 16th century in context of medieval hospice care in middle Europe
The thesis is focused on the hospital of the Holy Spirit in Krnov in 14th to 16th century and his inclusion into the context of medieval hospice care in the middle Europe. It is based on proseminar and seminar works focused on medieval hospice care and in importance and theme is follow up of author's Bachelor thesis Špitál sv. Alžběty ve Wrocławi v širším kontextu středověkého špitálnictví ve střední Evropě (The hospital of st. Elisabeth in Wrocław in wider context of medieval hospitality in middle Europe). The hospital if Holy Spirit was erected in later period than hospital of St. Elisabeth. That is the reason why is the diploma thesis focused of hospitals which was erected in the peak of the Middle Ages these hospitals have got period of main development during the late Middle Ages. In the second chapter the thesis will be focused on analysis of the residential topography of this religious center in scope of medieval Krnov. In chapters 3rd to 6th will be exceptionally from the larger part based on the basic modern literature because the oldest literature is absent or unreliable. The role of the Vartenberg-dynasty in the beginning of the history of the town Stráž pod Ralskem

The region of Ceskolipsko, during the early medieval period, is one of the least described in historical texts. But there were influential trade routes here too, so castles were built along them. These castles were built by the House of Vartenberk which was one of the most prominent royal houses of this period. Nevertheless, current literature does not provide a comprehensive depiction of their influence and the information provided conflicts itself. This work focuses on landmarks in the town Straz pod Ralskem which is tightly related to the House of Vartenberk. This includes the Vartenberk Castle, St. Zikmund Church and marginally also the Ralsko Castle. These are described from the historical, art historical and architectural point of view in detail. The source of information contradiction about this period is the nonexistence of foundation charters. Information for this work was obtained through a critical comparison of primary sources. The goal of this work is to create a comprehensive depiction of individual landmarks by collecting all available information.

History of brewing in Velké Popovice

This bachelor thesis explores the beginnings of beer brewing industry in the village of Velké Popovice. The crucial part of the thesis dedicated to the brewery is preceded by a brief analysis of the relevant literature. The following section outlines the development of beer brewing since its coming to existence in the global context and in the Czech lands, with special attention dedicated to the crown cities, nobility, the guild system and periods of crisis. The core of the thesis focuses first on the history of Velké Popovice and is continued by the history of the brewery since the first mention of its existence in the 16th century written sources. Then it scrutinizes the historical periods of changing ownership until the founding of the current brewery by František Ringhoffer in 1874. Attention is also paid to the cultural and historical influence of the premonstratensians and the benedictines on the pre-industrial beer brewing, cultural and historical development of the whole estate, as well as their influence on the economic and social structure of the inhabitants.

Folk religiosity during High Middle Ages and Early Modern times as reflected in material culture

Folk religiosity during High Middle Ages and Early Modern times as reflected in material culture (the example of small ceramic sculpture) This work focuses on study of religious practice and urban everyday life of urban folk groups in Prague Towns from High Middle Ages till Early Modern times. The most common archaeological artifacts reflecting religious practice are small clay figurines found both in urban and in rural environment. These figurines made of fired clay depict in most cases Madonna with Christ-child and various saints, nevertheless profane figurines and various zoomorphic artifacts can be found too. This work is focused mainly on findings of clay figurines obtained during the large archeological excavation on Republic Square in Prague, which offered a unique collection of artifacts dated from 1250 to 1600. Analogies from the Central Europe will be considered in the process of evaluation of the assemblage mentioned above. It is not known exactly what the purpose of these artifacts was and it is still a subject of discussion, into which we will try to bring some new light. History of restorations of the church of Mary Magdalene in Přední Kopanina

This thesis is concernet with Romanesgue church in the village of Přední Kopanina today in Prague 6. After analyzing interdisciplinary research object, this work presents as a preliminary point prehistoric and early middle ages settlement and history of the area's Přední Kopanina and not only from archaeological findings, but also to construction history and written sources. Will be followed a short overview of historical and of economic development the Church of MarieMagdalena particulary and we will follow also the associated parish since its establishment at the church to decomposition stage, reconstruction in the 19th and 20th century until today. The main part VI will be devoted to the concruction development of the church in the 19th and 20th centuries. The scientific contribution of this work is to provide information authenticity of the core the value of the romanesgue church, which should be reflected in the docu mentation project. Jáchymov- one of the phenomena of the Bohemian Kingdom. View into the conditions of the 16th century city

The work presents a summary of the importance of mining in a specific region of the Ore Mountains and how this led to the emergence of the mining town of Jáchymov.The origins of Jáchymov agglomeration is linked to the family of Slik. The following chapters discusses their family, their asset base and foundation. The main part is devoted to the architektur. The aim of thesis is try to define building and urban development of town Jachymov in 16th century. The work presents translocation and the relocation of settlements from the center of the parish church of All Saints to St. Jáchym. The thesis should notice the time when the two churches arose by looking back at the historical situation in the 16th century Bohemia.
