Oblast Českolipsko v období raného středověku patří k jedné z méně popsaných v historických pramenech a odborné literatuře. Územím procházely významné obchodní cesty a s nimi byly budovány i strážní hrady. Tyto hrady vystavěl rod Vartenberků, který patřil v této oblasti k předním šlechtickým rodům tohoto období. Ucelený obraz o jejich činnosti literatura neposkytuje a informace v ní si protiřečí. Tato práce se zaměřuje na památky města Stráž pod Ralskem, které jsou s rodem Vartenberků úzce spjaty. Zahrnuje hrad Vartenberk, kostel sv. Zikmunda a okrajově i strážní hrad Ralsko. Památky jsou zde detailně popsány jak po historické, tak po umělecko-historické i stavebně-historické stránce. Absence zpracovaných a zveřejněných písemných pramenů je právě v tomto období zdrojem rozporů v literatuře. Informace byly získány kritickým porovnáním historických pramenů a primární literatury. Cílem této práce je vytvořit ucelený pohled na jednotlivé památky shromážděním všech dostupných informací. The region of Ceskolipsko, during the early medieval period, is one of the least described in historical texts. But there were influential trade routes here too, so castles were built along them. These castles were built by the House of Vartenberk which was one of the most prominent royal houses of this period. Nevertheless, current literature does not provide a comprehensive depiction of their influence and the information provided conflicts itself. This work focuses on landmarks in the town Straz pod Ralskem which is tightly related to the House of Vartenberk. This includes the Vartenberk Castle, St. Zikmund Church and marginally also the Ralsko Castle. These are described from the historical, art historical and architectural point of view in detail. The source of information contradiction about this period is the nonexistence of foundation charters. Information for this work was obtained through a critical comparison of primary sources. The goal of this work is to create a comprehensive depiction of individual landmarks by collecting all available information.
