Založení a následné svolání c. k. Ústřední komise pro zachování a zkoumání stavebních památek (k. k. Central-Commission zur Erforschung und Erhaltung der Baudenkmale) v letech 1850/1853 představuje významný mezník v dějinách památkové péče zemí tehdejší habsburské monarchie a má své místo i v rámci Evropy. Předkládaná dizertační práce sleduje dopady činnosti Ústřední komise na území Čech v průběhu 50. a na začátku 60. let 19. století, což zhruba odpovídá době předsednictví K. Czoerniga von Czoernhausen. V úvodu je pozornost věnována přehledu dosavadních textů o rané památkové péči, jejich autorům a metodě zpracování tématu. Dále je nastíněna situace ochrany památek vybraných sousedních i vzdálenějších evropských státech (Bádensko, Württembersko, Prusko, Sasko, Štýrsko, Francie). Začátek působení Ústřední komise je spojen s výběrem a jmenováním konzervátorů a korespondentů, kteří zajišťovali činnost v daných lokalitách. Dle spisového materiálu prezídia Českého místodržitelství se podařilo pečlivě popsat proces od výběru kandidátů až k jejich jmenování v roce 1854. V následujících letech jednotliví krajští konzervátoři a později i korespondenti přispívali dle svých možností zprávami i aktivním zásahem k průzkumu a záchraně řady stavebních památek na území Čech. Central-Commission zur Erforschung und Erhaltung der Baudenkmale) in 1850/1853 represents a significant milestone in the history of monument conservation in the countries of the Habsburg Monarchy and has its place in Europe. e present dissertation traces the impact of the Central Commission's activities in Bohemia during the 1850s and early 1860s, which roughly corresponds to the time of K. Czoernig von Czoernhausen's presidency. In the introduction, attention is paid to a review of current texts on early conservation, their authors and the method of treatment of the topic. en the situation of the preservation of monuments in selected neighbouring and more distant European states (Baden, Württemberg, Prussia, Saxony, Styria, France) is outlined. e beginning of the Central Commission is connected with the recruitment and designation of conservators and correspondents to work at the sites. According to the files of the Presidium of the Bohemian Governorate, the process from the selection of candidates to their designation in 1854 has been carefully described.
