Rostliny jsou neustále ovlivňovány různými abiotickými i biotickými stresy, které vyvolávají celou řadu reakcí. Výsledkem může být zvýšená tolerance rostlin vůči různým stresovým faktorům jako je napadení herbivory nebo nedostatek vody. Tato odolnost může být mimo jiné i epigenetickými mechanismy přenesenaina další generace.Natvorbě mezigeneračníivícegeneračnístresové pamětise mohouhojně podílet malé RNA sloužící jako signální molekuly rychlé odpovědi rostliny na stres. MiRNA jsou převážně regulátorygenové exprese,prostřednictvímsvých inhibičních a degradačních aktivit řídí transkripci genů a translaci velkého množství proteinů. SiRNA by se mohly účastnit přenosu transkripční paměti prostřednictvímmechanismuRNA řízenéDNA methylace (RdDM).Methylace DNA ahistonovémodifikace společně slouží jako chromatinové značky, jež je možné epigeneticky přenést do dalších generací. Na základě toho pak rostliny odvozené od stresu vystavených rodičovských rostlin vykazují velké změny v genové expresioprotirostlinám s nestresovanýmirodiči.Tyto změnypak přetrvávajípo různě dlouhou dobu v závislosti na tom, zda je opět genová exprese indukována stresovým faktorem či nikoli. Zájem o pochopení mechanismů transgenerační stresové paměti v poslední době značně vzrostl a tyto znalosti mohou již brzy umožnit jejich... Additionally, this resistance can also be passed on to subsequent generations through epigeneticmechanisms.Small RNAsservingas signaling moleculesof the plant's rapid response tostress can play a large part in the formationof intergenerationalandmultigenerationalstressmemory.MiRNAs are mainly regulators of gene expression,throughtheirinhibitory and degradative activitiesthey control the transcription of genes and the translation of a large number of proteins. SiRNAs could participate in the transfer of transcriptional memory through the mechanism of RNA-directed DNA methylation (RdDM). DNA methylation and histone modifications together act as chromatin marks that can be epigeneticallytransferredtosubsequentgenerations.Basedonthis,plants derivedfromstressedparent plants show large changes in gene expression compared to plants with non-stressed parents.
