Příspěvek je věnován problematice vymezení sektoru sociálního bydlení v evropských zemích, obecnému zhodnocení výhod a nevýhod sociálního bydlení, vymezení sektoru sociálního bydlení v ČR a vybraným otázkám spojeným s potenciálním vznikem sektoru sociálního bydlení v ČR. The paper is focused on general definition of social housing in European countries, on general assessment of advantages and disadvantages of social housing and the question whether some part(s) of the housing stock in the Czech Republic could be considered for social housing. Some questions related to introduction of social housing in the Czech Republic are also discussed.
