Diplomová práce zkoumá postavení českého energetického strojírenství na globálním trhu. Prvním cílem práce je analýza míry zapojení a pozice českých firem daného odvětví do globálních produkčních sítí (GPN). Druhým cílem je zjištění, zda existuje souvislost mezi pozicí těchto firem v GPN a kvalitou regionálních inovačních systémů. Tato práce je proto teoreticky ukotvena v obou v současnosti dominujících teoretických přístupech ke studiu regionálního rozvoje, a to v teorii globálních produkčních sítí (GPN) i v teorii regionálních inovačních systémů (RIS). Výrazná většina zkoumaných firem je do různé míry zapojená do globálních produkčních sítí, dvanáct z nich bylo dokonce identifikováno jako vedoucí firmy GPN. Hlavními důvody relativně velmi dobré pozice českých firem v energetickém strojírenstvi v GPN jsou dlouhá průmyslová tradice českých firem v tomto odvětví, vysoká kvalita podpůrných odvětví a přítomnost energetických strojírenských globálních NNK v České republice. Většina firem v daném odvětví dodává současně do několika GPN působících v energetickém strojírenství, což dále posiluje jejich pozici. Nejvyšší přídanou hodnotu v energetickém strojírenství vytvářejí firmy, které realizují vlastní V&V&I aktivity. Výsledky potvrzují předpoklad, že firmy zakořeněné v relativně rozvinutých RIS... This thesis examines the position of the Czech power-engineering industry in the global market. The first aim of this thesis is to analyze the level of involvement of the Czech power-engineering firms into the GPN. The second goal is to discover to what extent the position of these firms depends on the quality of the regional innovation systems. It employs two relatively new concepts of the global production networks (GPN) and regional innovation systems (RIS) in order to reach its two main goals. The vast majority of the exemined power-engineering companies connected with global production networks and 12 of them are are identified as lead firms in GPN. Relatively very good positions of the Czech power-engineering firms in GPN caused by the industrial traditions of the Czech firms, the quality of the supporting industries and the presence of the global power- engineering TNCs in Czechia. Most of the companies supply equipment to others branches simultaneously with the power-engineering. The companies carrying out their own R&D&I activities bring the highest value to the industry. The results proved the assumption that the firms embedded in relatively more developed RISs usually enjoy higher positions in GPNs Key words: global production networks, regional innovation systems, Czechia
