Trichobilharzia regenti je ptačí nazální schistosoma, která má v prvních dnech života v definitivním hostiteli afinitu k nervové soustavě. Larvální stadia migrují centrální nervovou soustavou a dostávají se až do nosní sliznice nakažených vrubozobých ptáků, kde dospívají a množí se. Této fázi infekce byla zatím věnována menší pozornost. Dospělé motolice se nacházejí v nosní sliznici zhruba od 13. do 24. dne po infekci. Během této životní fáze prolézají oblastí bohatě prokrvené pojivové tkáně a kladou vajíčka, jejichž přítomnost byla zatím zaznamenána pouze ve tkáni. Ve tkáni dochází také k vývoji a (na rozdíl lidských schistosom) líhnutí miracidia. Přítomnost parazita vyvolává zánět a tkáň je infiltrována imunitními buňkami. Pomocí základních histologických barvení byly popsány lymfocyty, granulocyty, makrofágy, plasmatické buňky a obří vícejaderné buňky. Tato práce je zaměřená na detailnější popis buněčné imunitní odpovědi a histopatologických změn tkáně, což bylo prováděno pomocí histologických barvení a za použití protilátkových a lektinových sond. Pomocí histologických barvení byli dospělí červi pozorováni častěji v lumenu cév, který obsahoval také zvýšená množství imunitních buněk oproti zdravým jedincům. Ve tkáni došlo k infiltraci velkého množství lymfocytů, kolem vajíček se ve shlucích... Trichobilharzia regenti is a nasal avian schistosome which has during the initial phase of infection an affinity to the nervous system. Larvae migrate through the central nervous system to the nasal mucosa of waterfowl, where they mature and reproduce. Until now this infection phase has been described only marginally. Adults are located in the nasal mucosa approximately from 13th to 24th day post infection. During this life phase, they migrate through the vascularized connective tissue and lay eggs, the presence of which has been detected in the tissue only. Maturation and hatching of miracidia occur in the tissue (unlike human schistosomes). The parasite causes inflammation, and the tissue is infiltrated with immune cells. Lymphocytes, granulocytes, macrophages, plasma cells and giant multi-nuclear cells were described by histological methods. The thesis is focused on a more detailed description of cellular immune response and histopathological changes of the tissue by means of histological stains, and antibody/lectin probes. The flukes were observed more frequently in the blood vessel lumen, together with a higher number of immune cells compared to the healthy duck.
