Denní rytmus je koncept, který v poslední době přináší nové poznatky v popisu fungování města, skutečného počtu a pohybu jeho obyvatel. Odhaluje skutečnosti, které nejsou dostupné v tradičních statistických pramenech nebo jsou zde zachyceny nepřesně či nedostatečně podrobně. Jednotlivé případové studie jsou však časově náročné, a proto v řadě lokalit dosud nebyly provedeny. Hlavním cílem mé práce bylo popsat denní a týdenní rytmus vybrané vysokoškolské koleje a jeho nejdůležitější rytmizátory. Areál kolejí 17. listopadu náležející Karlově univerzitě plní rezidenční funkci a tomu odpovídá i jeho rytmus. Nejvíce lidí se zde nachází v pozdních nočních hodinách v pracovní dny. Ráno přichází prudký pokles počtu s maximem odchodů mezi osmou a devátou hodinou a odpoledne pozvolnější nárůst. V sobotu je v areálu znatelně méně lidí a rytmus příchodů a odchodů je mnohem vyrovnanější. Nejvýznamnějším vnějším rytmizátorem je výuka na vysokých školách, nejvýznamnějším rytmizátorem uvnitř areálu je menza, která v poledních hodinách způsobuje přechodný nárůst počtu osob v lokalitě. It reveals facts that are not available in traditional statistical sources or are captured inaccurately or inadequately in detail. However, individual case studies are time-consuming and have not yet been implemented in a number of locations. The main aim of my work was to describe the daily and weekly rhythm of a chosen college dormitory and its most important pacemakers. The dormitory complex on the 17. listopadu street, which belongs to Charles University, fulfills a residential function and its rhythm thus corresponds to this model. Most people are present here in late night hours on weekdays. In the morning, there is a steep drop in the number of residents, with a maximum of departures between eight and nine o'clock, and a more gradual increase in the afternoon. On Saturdays, there are significantly fewer people in the area and the rhythm of arrivals and departures is much more balanced. The most important external pacemaker are university classes, the most important pacemaker inside the complex is the canteen, which causes a temporary increase in the number of people in the locality at noon.
