Manuální tvorba umělého terénu může být náročný proces, který by v řadě aplikací bylo vhodné nahradit jeho automatickým gene- rováním. V současné době se dosahuje velkých pokroků při řešení generativních problémů pomocí umělých neuronových sítí, a tak se nabízí možnost prozkoumání jejich schopnosti automatického generování terénu. V této práci se budeme věno- vat jedné z nejúspěšnějších metod automatického generování obsahu - Generative Adversarial Networks a adaptujeme tuto metodu na problém generování terénu. Výsledný model je schopen generovat realisticky vypadající terén podle rastro- vého náčrtku zadaného uživatelem a umožňuje jeho interaktivní modelování. Jeho nevýhodou je potřeba velkého množství neoznačených trénovacích dat, avšak zem- ský povrch jich poskytuje více než dostatek, a tak by tento model mohl díky svým příznivým vlastnostem nalézt své uplatnění v odpovídajících aplikacích. Manual terrain creation can be arduous process, hence automa- tization of this process would be convenient in many cases. Thanks to current advances in employing artifical neural networks on various generative tasks, the possibility of generating terrain using artificial neural networks should be investi- gated. We will focus on Generative Adversarial Networks as it is one of the most successful content generation method, and we will adjust this method to the task of artificial terrain generation. Resulting model is capable of generating realistic terrain based on raster sketch given by user and allows interactive modelling. Disadvantage of the model is it's requirement of a lot of training data. However, thanks to global elevation datasets providing us with more than enough training data, the model could be useful in certain applications.
