Tématem této bakalářské práce byla analýza literárního textu a jeho filmové adaptace a následné porovnání obou děl. Materiálem pro konkrétní komparace byla novela Ladislava Fukse Spalovač mrtvol a její stejnojmenný filmový přepis režírovaný Jurajem Herzem. Roz-bor Fuksovy knihy proběhl na základě monografie Seymoura Chatmana Příběh a diskurs, filmovou adaptaci jsme se pak pokoušeli rozčlenit na podobné roviny, jaké jsme vydělili u literárního textu, a ty jsme dále popisovali. V závěrečné kapitole jsme nastínili některé problémy, které se při adaptování literárního textu mohou vyskytnout, a nakonec jsme provedli srovnání obou děl. Na základě komparace literární a filmové podoby Spalovače mrtvol jsme dospěli k zá-věru, že Herzův snímek je jednou z nejzdařilejších českých adaptací a jedním z našich nejlépe hodnocených filmů vůbec. The topic of this bachelor thesis was an analysis of the literary text and its film adapta-tion and subsequent comparison of the two. Material for this particular comparison was the novella The Cremator by Ladislav Fuks and the film version of the same name directed by Ju-raj Herz. The analysis of Fuks' book was done according to Seymour Chatman's Story and Discourse. During the analysis of film adaptation, we tried to a divide the movie into the sec-tions similar to those we used in our novella's study, and then we described those sections. In the final chapter we outlined some problems that might occur during the process of adapting of the literary text and finally we compared the novella and the film. As a result of the comparison of the novella and its film adaptation we concluded that Herz's movie is one of the best adaptations and one of the best Czech films ever made.
