Střed jakékoli jiné územní jednotky, např. Čech, České republiky, Evropy apod., je nepochybně jistá atrakce pro obec, na jejímž území se nachází. Takové místo jistě přispívá to ke zviditelnění obce a snad i ke zvýšení cestovního ruchu. Zřejmě i proto je více takových míst, o nichž se tvrdí, že jsou středem nějakého území. V tomto příspěvku jsou uvedena některá nejdůležitější taková místa. Je popsán postup, jak lze určit střed vybraného území jakožto těžiště. Tímto způsobem je pak vypočítána poloha středu Čech, Moravy, České republiky a Evropy a tyto polohy jsou porovnány s výsledky uvedenými jinde. The centre of any territorial unit, as e.g. Bohemia, Czech Republic, Europe etc., is undoubtedly an attraction for the town or village where this point is located. This fact contributes surely to the significance of the locality and perhaps it attracts more visitors. This is the reason why there are more localities considered as the centre of the territorial unit. In this contribution, some most significant centres are presented. The method how to determine the centre of a selected territory as the centre of gravity is described. Using this method the positions of centres of Bohemia, Moravia, the Czech Republic and Europe have been calculated and compared with other mentioned results.
