The bachelor's thesis deals with the creation and use of an educational computer game (quiz game) in teaching inorganic chemistry, specifically in practicing the symbols of chemical elements, especially for students in the second grade of primary schools and lower grades of multi-year grammar schools. Educational game aims to motivate and activate students as well as develop interdisciplinary relationships. Pupils get acquainted not only with scientific knowledge, but also with practical and general knowledge in an attractive quiz form.
Educational computer game, its creation and use in teaching geochemistry

This diploma thesis is focused on the creation and use of educational computer games in teaching geochemistry at the second grade of primary school. The aim of this game is to pass on appropriate knowledge to students in an attractive way, to develop interdisciplinary relations, their internal motivation and key competences. The game is localized in well-known places of Šumava and the player is informed about its local geographical and historical attractions. The theoretical part is based on analysis of professional literature. Findings of this analysis are the theoretical framework of knowledge for the following practical part, in which the educational game is created and verified in practice. The research was conducted online and its results are discussed in the final part of the work. Based on the feedback from the students, possible modifications of the test version of the game were suggested.

Students get information not only about science, but also about the local history, monuments and culture.
Roma college Graduates : Success factors

This diploma thesis deals with factors which influenced successful Roma college graduates. It tries to reveal what are the reasons why these Roma people managed to defy statistics and get a college diploma. The thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part it acquaints readers with professional literature and with its resources. Particular chapters pursue factors which have a direct connection with Roma education - Roma family, which strongly determines children's value system, Roma traditions and customs, Roma language, basic legislation and famous Roma personalities. The practical part, using a questionnaire, tries to determine the most important factors which influenced Roma college graduates during their lives. The goal of the research is to find out whether and to what extent particular factors interfered with academically successful Roma people's decision making. From the research part, it is apparent that the two main factors were positive motivation from their parents and a vision of a higher salary.

Factors influencing the selection of geography as a field of study

This bachelor thesis focuses on investigating factors, which impact students' decision to choose Geography as their field of further study. These factors are researched from the point of view of the relationship to Geography in their family or school environment. The research was conducted through a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods, answers were acquired through controlled dialogue in focus groups as well as through questionnaire surveys. The surveys were filled out by 105 students of Geography while 13 current and former students of the field participated in the focus groups. The student is tested on the relevant topics of organic chemistry during the game. The tests are mainly directed on the organic chemistry nomenclature. The adventure takes place in the castle Jindřichův Hradec. The student also learns the basic facts and history of this compound. In this way they acquire inter-subject links.
