Sulfur dioxide emissions
Borýsek, Václav ; Štelcl, Otakar (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with emissions of sulphur oxides. First are described their properties, influence on human health and their impact on the environment. Next thesis deals with present situation of emissions and emission limits. After that selected methods of reduction of sulphur dioxide emissions are described and for representative technology mass balance has been made. Last part describes taken measurements and presents their results.
The Death Pit and the Glowing Swamp: A Permeation
Smutný, Jan ; Marek, Petr (referee) ; Cenek, Filip (advisor)
The work is connecting well-known symbols of alchemy and various esoteric traditions and giving them visual and narrative form. There is deconstruction and glorification of this type of philosophy in the same time. The characters of the story are symbolizing the german and slavic archetypes. Their voyage from the pit of death to the glowing swamp and vice versa is representing the ageless story of life and death, creation and destruction, body and soul, light and darkness. All the symbols are used in the ironic and serious way in the same time.
Monitoring of the content of selected elements in the batch for blast furnace and their influence on optimizing the production of pig iron
Filipová, Iveta ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Juliš, Martin (advisor)
This Bachelors thesis deals with monitoring the content of elements in batch for blast furnace and their influence on optimizing the production of pig iron. Contents in output materials were also recorded. For a given time period were monitored especially the quantity of sulfur, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, iron and alkali (K2O, Na2O) in cooperation with TŘINECKÉ ŽELEZÁRNY, a.s. and their material balances were subsequently forged. Processed regression analysis show the influence of batch on the content of individual elements in the output materials.
Determination of the most suitable ratio of cathode materials for the lithium-sulfur battery system
Benešová, Petra ; Kazda, Tomáš (referee) ; Jaššo, Kamil (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with a topic of determination of the most suitable ratio of cathode materials for the lithium-sulfur systems. The first two chapters provide a general introduction to the topic of electrochemical energy sources and present the commonly used primary and secondary battery systems with emphasis on their characteristics and applications. The core of the theoretical part is dedicated to lithium-ion and lithium-sulfur batteries, their working principles along with the benefits or drawbacks related to the particular systems, and widely used materials. The experimental part briefly comments on determining the suitable electrode paste preparation method, the subsequent main part is focused on evaluation of electrochemical performance of cells using different ratios of cathode materials. Five samples of cathode materials were prepared, where the sulfur ratio is in range from 64 to 88 wt. %. Finally, the comparison of all prepared ratios in terms of their electrochemical properties is provided.
Batteries for medical applications
Pagáčová, Lenka ; Tichý, Jiří (referee) ; Kazda, Tomáš (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with the influence of different carbon materials on the properties of Li-S accumulators. The theoretical part of the thesis describes primary and secondary electrochemical sources with a focus on medical applications. The second chapter deals individually with a lithium article. The main part of the thesis is the practical production of electrodes for Li-S accumulators using different types of carbon materials. The effects of these materials on the properties of accumulators are investigated to determine the most appropriate in terms of capacity and stability.
Purification of flue-gas desulfurization
Křesťan, Jan ; Špiláček, Michal (referee) ; Hrnčířová, Michaela (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is theoretical elaboration of flue-gas desulfurization and emission limits of sulphur dioxide. Thesis is divided into three parts. First part is about content of sulphur in fuel, formation of sulphur oxides and their influence on human health and environment. Second part is dedicated to sources of sulphur dioxide, present emission situation in the Czech Republic and emission limits of sulphur dioxide. The third part describes methods how to reduce emissions of sulphur dioxide, especially methods of flue-gas desulfurization. The thesis is based on technical texts, Czech laws about air pollution and data from the Czech hydrometeorological institute.
Vliv formy a termínu aplikace dusíkato-sirného hnojiva na výnos a kvalitu ozimé pšenice
Kala, Petr
This thesis deals with the fertilization of nitrogen-sulphur fertilizers in different forms and terms of application and assesses their effect on the yield and quality of winter wheat grain. To find out the results was carried out a small-plot field experiment in Žabčice and Vatín. In the experiment were used these nitrogen-sulphur fertilizer: DASA, MAGNISUL and DASAMAG. Mentioned fertilizers were rotate as part of regenerative and the first production fertilizing with LAD. The LAD fertilizer was used for the control variant. In the second production fertilizing was used DAM-390 in all variants. The results of the field experiment were statically conclusive in all the evaluated criteria only in the comparison of the location. Statistical conclusive was not detected in the investigated factor “Variant of fertilization”. These results were significantly affected by the unfavorable course of the weather in the 2017/2018 growing season.
Ověření účinnosti různých inhibitorů nitrifikace v hnojivu DASA na výnos a kvalitu zrna pšenice ozimé
Kvita, Martin
The bachelor thesis deals with the effect of different nitrification inhibitors in the fertilizer DASA on the yield and grain quality of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum). The practical part was solved in the form of a small-plot field experiment at the Field Experimental Station Žabčice in the 2021/2022 growing season. The parameters were assessed: the grain yield, the hectoliter weight of the grain, the content of protein and gluten in the grain and the Zeleny test. The fertilizer variants included in the experiment were: 1. DASA (control variant without inhibitors), 2. DASA + MPCAA 1, 3. DASA + MPCAA 2, 4. DASA + DMPP, 5. DASA + DMPPA, 6. DASA + MPA 1, 7. DASA + MPA 2. Winter wheat grain yield was not statistically significant. The highest average value was achieved by variant No. 7 DASA + MPA 2 (6.80 t.ha-1). Compared to the control variant, it achieved a higher yield by 0.18 t.ha-1. The highest values of hectolitre weight of grain were observed for the control variant No. 1 DASA (77.1 kg.hl-1). The content of protein was highest in control variant No. 1 DASA and variant No. 6 DASA + MPCAA 1 (12.2%). The highest gluten content (26.8%) and sedimentation value (37 ml) was also achieved by control variant No. 1 DASA. In terms of yield, variant No. 7 DASA with MPA 2 inhibitor had the highest values, while the highest values in terms of quality were achieved by variant No. 1 DASA without inhibitors.
