In case of complications, such as abscess, periappendicular infiltrate or perforation with peritonitis, it can even lead to a life- threatening condition. The aim of this study was to analyse antibiotic prophylaxis (AP) in paediatric patients undergoing open appendectomy, as well as antibiotic treatment of complicated appendicitis. Another aim was to compare the administration of antibiotics (ATB) before and after the implementation of recommended hospital procedures (RHP). Subsequently, to monitor the incidence of complications and length of hospital stay and their association with ATB administration and other risk factors. Incorrect diagnosis, poorly performed antibiotic prophylaxis (AP) or treatment can lead to life-threatening complications such as perforation, peritonitis, periappendiceal infiltrate or abscess. The aim of this study was to analyse the administration of antibiotics (ATB) as a part of prophylaxis before appendectomy and as part of the therapy of complicated appendicitis in the paediatric population and to compare the obtained results. One of these measures is antibiotic prophylaxis (AP), thus the administration of an appropriate antibiotic or antibacterial chemotherapy (ATB) at the prescribed time, in sufficient dose and for sufficient duration to produce the desired effect. The aim of this study was to analyze the antibiotic administration in prophylaxis in relation to surgical procedures in a district type hospital and to compare these results with the hospital's recommended practice (DPNM), international recommended practices (ASHP-G) and a review of the latest scientific knowledge in this area (NVP). The aim was to analyze and compare key parameters of AP in osteosynthesis of pertrochanteric fractures with the previous investigation and the methodological guidelines of the University Hospital. Methods: This retrospective cross-sectional study took place from 1st April 2019 to 31st March 2020 at the Department of Traumatology at the University Hospital. The aim of this study was analysis of therapy in patients with JIA focusing on MTX and faktors affecting its intolerance. Methods: The study was undertaken from January 2017 to February 2018 at the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. Patients younger than 18 years old, who have become ill with JIA for the first time or repeatedly between years 2015-2017 and were treated by MTX were included in this study. The prevalence of MTX intolerance was measured by "Methotrexate Intolerance Severity Score" questionaire every 3 months during regular rheumatological examinations. The aim of this work was the retrospective analysis of bacterial infection in newborns with a birth weight ≤ 1500 g hospitalized in Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and compare it with the latest findings published in the expect literature. Methods: The retrospective cross-sectional study took place in Paediatric ICU. The data were gathered between 07/29 and 08/10 2020. The study included patients in neonatal age with a birth weight ≤ 1500 g hospitalized in the Paediatric ICU in 2018 and 2019 with bacterial infection. The infection was proved by a positive cultivation, increased C-reactive protein and increased or reduced number of white blood cells. It is the administration of an eligible antibiotic or chemotherapeutic (ATB) in a single dose, usually 30 minutes before surgery, followed by two to three doses during or after the surgery, regarding the selected ATB and the surgical procedure. The aim of this work was to analyse the AP in surgical procedures at the Masaryk Hospital in Ústí nad Labem (MNUL) in the context of the MNUL guideline (DP) and the research on available AP work. Methods: A cross-sectional observational study ran from January 2018 to March 2018 in surgical departments at MNUL.
