The Theology of Holiness According to St John Paul II
Bušková, Magda ; Novotný, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Červenková, Denisa (referee) ; Svatoň, Robert (referee)
v anglickém jazyce: The primary focus of this study on the theology of holiness, according to St John Paul II, is to explore how he understands and interprets Christian holiness and what perspective he brings to the subject. The study offers a brief view of the saints he beatified and canonised, followed by insight into the moments of his life and spirituality, exploring, in line with the approach of spiritual theology, the appeal to understand him from within. The study's approach further reflects the theme of holiness from the position of selected texts of the Second Vatican Council. It intentionally takes into account the post-conciliar interpretation of Karol Wojtyła to consider the roots of his theology of holiness. The research of the theology of holiness in John Paul II's magisterium follows within selected encyclicals, especially Redemptor Hominis, Dives in Misericordia, Dominum et Vivificantem, and Redemptoris Missio, to explore aspects and characteristics he emphasised. The basic thesis and the study's golden thread is the approach of Christian holiness described as the union of Jesus Christ with a Christian in the Holy Spirit and the realisation of such union in the Church. Klíčová slova v anglickém jazyce: St John Paul II, holiness, union with Christ, Holy Spirit, mission, kingdom of God
History of Římov pilgrimage site
ŠRUBAŘ, Štěpán
The thesis describes the history of the foundation of pilgrimage site Římov in southern Bohemia in the 17th century that could be build thanks to a donation of the local farm to the Jesuit College in Krumlov. The most significant proponents were a Capuchin monk Alex and a Jesuit lay brother John Gurre. The area consists of a chapel built in close resemblance to the Italian model of Holy House in Loreto and a Way of Sorrows designed as a copy of the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem. The work shows the significance of sacred architecture in the life of Christians in the 17th century. The role of fraternities and Marian spirituality in traditional piety of Catholics of that period is also mentioned. Based on the regular annual reports sent by every Jesuit College, unusual events accompanying the first decades of the shrine as well as the economic issues of the Jesuit residence are described.

The Gospel and Our Culture Network (GOCN) in North America aims at the renewal of the church's missionary identity in order to help her to grasp better her task of witnessing in the world. GOCN argues that this goal cannot be achieved without thorough reflection on the gospel and culture and their dynamic interaction. This thesis Missional Church: The Characteristics of the Gospel and Our Culture Network's Conception of Missional Ecclesiology will acquaint its readers with GOCN, its historical development, its understanding of the gospel and the analysis of its context. However, the main purpose of this study is to present GOCN's concept of missional ecclesiology itself and assess it in relation to missio Dei and its contextual character.
