Thiel, Dan ; Sýkora, Karel (advisor) ; Maršálek, Kamil (referee)
1 ABSTRACT Title Comparison of levels of physical load during selected swimming techniques with and without clothes. Purposes My work compares particular swimming styles with or without army suits worn by Armed Forces of the Czech Republic focusing especially on physical effects on a human organism. The goal of my work is to find out the best and the most useful swimming style for the military swiming. Methods This is an observational type of quantitative research. Implemented using the intra-individual comparative analysis on a sample of two diferently swimming skilled probands. The measurement is made in the pool with a counter in the FLUM facility at faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Charles University. The compared swimming styles are breast swimming with head above water, crawl, rescue backstroke and swimming on the side. Results The results compare levels of physical demands utilised swimming techniques while swimming with clothes and in swimwear. They contrast the physical demands based on heart rate. The results show a difference in performing the same activity in clothes and in swimwear. Breast with head above water was the best of both probands when compared heart rate in swimming in clothes. When comparing the changes in heart rate with the difference between swimming in clothes and...
Comparison of energy expenditure when moving on wet and dry clothes.
Hrubý, Pavel ; Sýkora, Karel (advisor) ; Vágner, Michal (referee)
Title: Comparison of energy expenditure when moving on wet and dry clothes. Objectives: The aim of this study is to determine the difference in heart rate when moving in dryand wet clothes in different speeds. Methods: Quantitative research and subsequent intra-individual comparison of pulse frequency when moving in dry and wet clothes. Movements were conducted on a treadmill and heart rate was measured by using sporttesters. Results: From the results we can deduce that at the speed of 8 km / h is on the short track the move in the dry and wet clothing approximately at the same energy intensive. Furthermore, it was found that at higher speeds, the difference in heart rates is bigger and wearing a wet clothes at speeds 12 km / h approaches maximum heart rate. Keywords: Energy expenditure, heart rate, military swimming, moving in difficult conditions.
History of army swimming
Šrámek, Antonín ; Miler, Tomáš (advisor) ; Parkan, František (referee)
Title History of military swimming Objectives The aim of this bachelor thesis is to collect available information about the historical development of military swimming in the Czech Republic and in the world based on the historical analysis of thematic sources and literature. Another purpose is to supplement the text material with the pictorial documentation. Method The historical method is used to describe the development of military swimming chronologically. Results Providing the comprehensive view of military swimming including the description of history from its beginnings to the present. Keywords History, development, swimming, military swimming, navy, swimming training, military physical education.
Comparison of the loading rate during swimming with the load of various upthrust
Pospíšek, Tomáš ; Sýkora, Karel (advisor) ; Bunc, Václav (referee)
Title Comparison of the loading rate during swimming with the load of various upthrust. Objective Comparison of physical intensity during swimming with the load of high upthrust and low upthrust. Methods The Method used in this work was quantitativ research in the pool with counterflow (Flum, FTVS UK). There were 7 people tested. The loading rate was observed by heart rate monitor with chest strap. It is randomized study with crossed design and the method of data eleboration was comparative analysis. Results The results compare physical intensity during swimming with high upthrust load and very low upthrust load. It shows the differences in intensity between swimming with various types of load. It was found, that swimming with the load of high upthrust causes lower physical intensity than swimming with the load of very low upthrust. Swimming with the load by pulling is just a bit preferable than pushing. The heart rate by pulling is lower about 2 - 7 bpm than pushing. Keywords Military swimming, upthrust of the load, heart rate, swimming with load.
Comparison of the stress while swimming in a difficult and in an ideal conditions.
Karas, Miroslav ; Sýkora, Karel (advisor) ; Michalička, Vladimír (referee)
Title Comparison of the stress while swimming in a difficult and in an ideal conditions. Object A comparitive analysis of the stress while swimming in clothes and in swimsuits. Constant speed, swimming technique breast. Method We conducted a quantitive research, which was carried out by a comparitive analysison sample of five subjects who were chosen from the swimming club of Business Academy Žatec. Their heart rate was monitored by sporttester. Proband pass CSS test for the final constant speed. This speed we used throught the testing. Measurement were performed in the 25m length swimming pool of Business Academy Žatec. Length of the swimming lane was 200m. We compared the heart rate in batlle dress uniform (BDU) pattern 95 and in swimming suit. The measurement results were processed and statistically evaluated by parametric test. (Students paired t-test). Results We performed two measurement on five probands. The first measurements were made in a swimsuit. The resulting values of SF on all subjects did not reach the threshold anaerobic threshold. SF highest value we measured proband No.3 (153 beats / min). Second measurement are performed in BDU. The resulting readings for all subjects are well above the theoretical calculations SFmax. SF highest value we measured proband No.1 (234 beats / min)....
Comparasion of the loading rate each of types of pulling a browning
Němeček, Václav ; Sýkora, Karel (advisor) ; Nečas, Dušan (referee)
Title of work Comparasion of the loading rate each of types of pulling a browning. Work objektive Identify and compare the load on the hert rate of each types of pulling a drowning. Compare the types of puding using the resulting values determined by measuring heart rate and choose which of measured types will cause puding the browning the simplest and the least exhausting. Used methods Quantitative research follows the changes in heart rate while swimming particular types of puding drowning. Measurements were carried out in the form of intra-individual komparative analysis among three probands, who swam in the pool with counterflow, for 2.5 minutes at a flow speed of 1,06 m/s. Heart rate was measured using sporttester. Keywords military swimming, water rescue, pulling a browning, comparation of load, heart rate

Comparison of the loading rate in various types of swimming with load.
Pospíšek, Tomáš ; Sýkora, Karel (advisor) ; Černohorský, Tomáš (referee)
Title of work Comparison of the loading rate in various types of swimming with load. Work objective Comparison of physical intensity in selected types of swimming with load used in the ACR. The level of physical intensity was determined on the basis of measured heart rate at different styles of swimming with load. Used methods The method used in this work was quantitative research with the observation of how the organism responds to the stress. There were 4 people tested. The measurement was performed in the pool with a counterflow, in the facility FLUM (UK FTVS), at a speed of 0,72 m/s. The load size was detected on the basis of heart rate, measured by sporttester. Results The results show physical intensity at different styles of swimming with load. The results compare the difference between swimming with load by pulling and pushing in four types of swimming. Keywords Military swimming, swimming with load, swimming in clothes, comparison of strain.
