The quality of life of people with hearing disabilities from an ethical perspective
BÍLKOVÁ, Ladislava
The thesis deals with the quality of life of people with hearing impairment in various stages of life with utilization of compensatory devices which affect their fulfilled and high-quality life from the ethical point of view. It also deals with the Act No. 329/2011 Coll., setting conditions for granting the compensatory devices to people with hearing impairment and role of social worker at social department of labor office with ethical approaches. By writing the thesis I come to conclusion that when assessing applications according to the law about compensatory devices, the 30-year-old setting of total hearing loss is considered. Big changes occurred in our society since then, integration, social inclusion gain ground but still only the offer of compensatory devices changed in the law. By change, meaning reduction of the total hearing loss from 85% according to Fowler to lower value in the law would lead to better usability of some compensatory devices for the benefit of the people with moderate to severe hearing loss and by that to their better inclusion into society and higher overall quality of life. Higher competence of medical assessors or social workers could also be considered with emphasis on individual assessment of applications according to social and life situation of the applicant.
An effect of cold showers on the psychological well-being
SCHWACHOVÁ, Nikola
Cold exposure activates the sympathetic nervous system and increases the concentration of beta-endorphin and noradrenaline in the blood, thus contributing to overall well-being. The aim of this thesis is to collect data of a selected sample of the population about their well-being and at the same time-frequency of hardening and find out the possible connection. 39 students from the Pedagogical Faculty of the University of South Bohemia participated in the study of hardening in the age range 19 - 25 years. The probands were divided into experimental and control groups. For about 3 months, 26 probands were hardened by cold showers. Data on the structure of the mental status of probands were obtained using the SUPOS questionnaire before and after the hardening period. Based on this analysis, it was found, that the experimental group showed a higher degree of well-being, with a simultaneous decline in impulsiveness, psychological unrest and anxiety expectations and fears, but statistically inconclusive. The positive influence of hardening of the organism on human well-being cannot be confirmed by the conclusion of this thesis.
Senior Life Style in the Context of Social Work
POPELOVÁ, Miroslava
At first, I focused on defining the concepts of ageing, old age and senior, in this work. Above all, I deal with health and lifestyle in old age, namely the choice of several social determinants of health, which influence the senior´s lives. I also describe by which way the older generation should taka care of their health in the areas of nutrition, motion, sleep, mental well-being and ways of coping with stress. In connection with healthy and active ageing, there is also written about importance of social services, which can help seniors with solving their difficult life situation, wheter due to social, economical or health reason. I have chosen two targets of the research for my bachelor thesis. The first one was to map the lifestyle as a social determinant of health in old age. The second one was to find out, wheter and by which way the seniors take care of their health. The research part of the bachelor thesis relates to the lifestyle of seniors living at home in Trhosvinensko. To determine the needed information, there was used qualitative research, question method of questioning and semi-structured interview technique. For the research survery, there were chosen five comunicative partners in age 65+, namely by the Snowball sampling method. Reached data were processed by the clustering method, in which individual data were divided into group based on the simillarity of the statements, which wer related to particular topics. The research has shown, that the asked seniors have some awareness of a healthy lifestyle in the areas of motion, sleep, mental well-being, stress management and nutrition. However, the survey results point primarily out to shortages in nutrition, because 3 of 5 seniors are at risk of malnutrition. Interviewed seniors appreciate their family and good relations with their close friends the most. They need to feel that they are still loved and can contact them whenever needed. If the family or the friends don´t have time, thay can contact the Care service Ledax, o.p.s. in Trhové Sviny, which, for example, can bring them lunch or accompany them to the doctor. In Trhosvinensko, there was found, that there are missing services, which would the seniors utilize in their free time and meet with their friends in various activities. For these services they have to go to České Budějovice, where the offer of the services is on a higher level.

ABSTRACT
This diploma thesis deals with whether and, if so, what influence the stress factors have on the life satisfaction of adults. It also focuses on what other aspects are important during the evaluation. The thesis is based on a qualitative research, in which the individuals have given authentic testimonies when evaluating their life satisfaction and conditions, which significantly affect the evaluation. Attention was paid to both negative and positive effects and strategies when coping with difficult situations, trying to find similarities and differences and evaluate substantial factors. The goal also is to show possibilities of achieving a higher level of satisfaction.
