The Jews of Czechoslovakia after WWII

The thesis Jews in Czechoslovakia after WWII deals with the situation of the Czech and Moravian Jews after the WWII. It looks into the problems of the Jews liberated in the concentration camps and their process of repatriation and the problems, which were connected with their's adaptation to the society in Czechoslovakia. It follows the work of the Czech repatriation authorities and foreign Jewish organizations, which helped the Jews to adapt into the Czechoslovakia society. The thesis puts emphasizes on the differences between the behavior of the Jewish community in Prague and the Czech bureaus, which were obvious in the period of the return of the Jews to Czechoslovakia after the WWII. It also deals with the situation of the Jews from Carpathian Ruthenia and the Jews with German nationality, whose conditions where much more difficult.
End of War World II in Polička

The aim of the bachelor work "The End of War World II in Polička" is to describe the period of the first half of the year 1945 in Polička from the thematic and chronological point of view with the use of selected historical methods. The first part of the work concentrates on the events till May 1945, its second part on the stay of Soviet troops and the town command of the Czechoslovak Army in Polička. The final part deals with persons who were tried by the Extraordinary People's Court, speaks about Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev stay in Polička and the transfer of Germans from the town.

First volume of new, third series of the project on Documents on Czechoslovak Foreign Policy contains documents from May to December 1945. The documents concentrate mainly the restoration of postwar-Czechoslovakia, Czechoslovak-Soviet relations (mainly cession of Subcarpathian Ruthenia), Czechoslovak-Polish conflict on Teschen, relief of UNRRA and another question. Documents are published including historical and editorial introduction, list of documents, English summaries of documents and name index.

The aim of this thesis is to show the complete view of events and life in Domažlice, to intercept the key moments, people´s life and some of their destinies. The memories of people who have lived through these events can create the picture how their personal life has been influenced by this period.
Forming of political system in Písek 1945 - 1948

The thesis submitted deals with the period of 1945 {--} 1948, the period of the end of the World War II and the beginning of the communist regime. It follows the events in the Czechoslovak Republic since its liberation by the American and Soviet Armies, the punishment of the collaborators and the withdrawal of the German inhabitants, the establishment of the National Front and People{\crq}s committees as new administrative and authority units, further the Constitutive National Assembly elections in May of 1946, gradual fall of the National Front, communist coup d{\crq}état of February 1948 and subsequent May election, with all the events focused on the region of the chosen South Bohemian town {--} Písek. The events start to be followed in May of 1945, in the long{--}awaited days of liberation from Nazism. It deals with the restoration of autonomous authorities in the form of the Local and the District people{\crq}s committee as well as the restoration of the activities of political parties which peaked during the election campaign of 1946 reflecting in the results of the election. It also pays attention to the disputes among the parties and their members that culminate in the February events of 1948 and oncoming new socio{--}political arrangements. Least but not last, it also deals with a severe post{--}war situation of the Czech inhabitants, supply cut-off difficulties as well as the restoration of the remained town ruins.
The End World war 2 in Prachatice and surrounding (on the basis of literature, repositories and eyewitness memories)

The thesis targets at events which took place in the town of Prachatice and its surroundings at the end of the Second World War. It is based on written sources (filed in the State District Archives Prachatice), as well as on literature sources focusing on this topic and eyewitness memories. The first part presents a brief characterization of the town from geographical, social and economic point of view. The second chapter deals with events taking place in September 1938 when Prachatice was occupied by Nazi Germans. The third part shortly depicts the process of front war situations in Europe. The main part of the thesis consists of chapter 4 and 5 which present the way of living and events happening in the town from January 1945 to May 1945 when Prachatice was liberated by the US army. The thesis aims to connect general relations with events that happened in Prachatice and its surroundings not only to illustrate the topic from literature sources but also from people{\crq}s own memories. It tends to depict this period full of worries and hope. It is hoped to contribute to completion of the town history.
The liberation of region of Klatovy in May 1945

The thesis deals with the end of the Second World War in the inland part and in the border part of region of Klatovy in the pre-war and in the present area. At first the political situation after the Munich diktat is described and region`s administration during the Second World War is described brief. Thesis is includes the most infamous phenomena of German{\crq}s occupation of Czechoslovakia, namely final solution of Jews and Nazi crimes. Next part of thesis is focused on events prior to the liberation in May 1945 and activities of rebellious groups and guerilla detachments and activities of sky hogs. Then thesis deals with wartime and with American army in this region. The liberation of this region is painted through notes in chronicles and notes from interview witnesses. Last part of thesis is focused on post-war period, namely restoration of administration of this region and transfer of Germans from the border part of the region of Klatovy.
The beginnings of Czech education Malonty

The main theme of this work is to present and clarify the origins of education in Malonty. The introductory part consists of three subsections, which describes the location of this village, its history and present. The work contains the depiction and comparison of the course of education between postwar period and nowadays, which is divided into three parts: liberation - occupation, occupation - revolution, revolution - present. The second chapter contains a sub-chapter, which deals with education in the whole country after 1945 and the school history. Three annexes are attached to this work. The first annex contains the transcript of an interview with the witness V. Havelec and his brief biography. The second annex provides some photographs of the school building during the last years and the third annex includes the photocopies of the school correspondence.
