Ice nucleating particles in the atmosphere
Gaálová, Gabriela ; Zíková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Sedlák, Pavel (referee)
The production of clouds and precipitation in the atmosphere is greatly influenced by microscopic ice nucleating particles, acting in the process of heterogeneous ice nucleation as ice nuclei. Examining the properties and variations of ice nucleating particles concent- rations over time might help to better predict future changes to the climate. The aim of this thesis is to summarise the information about processes of homogeneous, but primarily heterogeneous ice nucleation where specific physical and chemical features of these particles are applied. In this thesis, the main aerosol sources of ice nucleating particles and their abilities to directly or indirectly influence the atmosphere and climate are described. The observational methods of the concentration of ice nucleating particles in the air are also pre- sented, while the structure of the cloud expansion chamber PINE, which was used to obtain data values representing the amount of ice nucleating particles in the Czech Republic, is also described in more detail. From the data set total average values and time dependen- cies, including daily and weekly cycle were calculated; the part of the data processing is the statistical evaluation and comparison of the results with other studies. Keywords: ice nucleating particles, nucleation, aerosol,...
Analysis of ice and water rescue statistics.
Bohatý, Aleš ; Fiala, Miloš (advisor) ; Vilášek, Josef (referee)
Title: Analysis of ice and water rescue statistics. Objectives: The aim is to describe the work of rescuers during rescue operations on ice and water, to describe the watercourses and water areas freezing process, to describe hydrology of watercourses and water areas, to inform about the numbers of ice and water rescue interventions in past years and in each of Czech republic's regions and to determine a time series data tendency of ice and water rescue statistics - to predict whether the rescue interventions numbers will increase or decrease in the years to come. Methods: Literature and study sources research and their further summarization, ice and water rescue statistics analysis by determining the time series data tendency (trends) by calculating linear regression parameters of these statistics, tendencies visualization using graphs and heatmaps. Results: According to data analysis of years 2006 - 2021, water and ice rescue numbers will be decreasing in the future. On the other hand data analysis of years 2014 - 2021 predict an increase in these numbers. The conclusion is that the ice and water rescue numbers will be increasing in the future, although the numbers will not be as high as of past years of 2006 - 2014. Key words: Analysis, statistics, tendency, trend, time series data, linear...
Evaluation of rte_flow Network Interface Cards Support
Autonomous cell "Ice cube feeder" for Industry 4.0 testbed
Mařas, Michael ; Kaczmarczyk, Václav (referee) ; Sýkora, Tomáš (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the description of the proposal and implementation of autonomous cells called Ice cube feeder. Gradually, we will learn how the implementation of autonomous cells in terms of design, electrical and programming. The concept represents the ideas of Industry 4.0. The entire production process follows the ANSI/ISA-S88 batch control standard, which describes the batch control process.
Study of the influence of nanoparticles on water properties
Šram, Matěj ; Komendová, Renata (referee) ; Řezáčová, Veronika (advisor)
This work deals with the study of the influence of platinum nanoparticles with a size of 3 nm on the properties of water in a porous system. SiO2 with a defined pore size was used as a porous system, which can simulate the mineral component of the soil. The theoretical part deals with the properties of free and porous water and the impact of nanoparticles on the environment. In the experimental part, the properties of free water, water in the porous system and the influence of the presence of platinum nanoparticles on these systems are investigated using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The observed processes were melting, solidification and evaporation, and derived quantities such as crystallization and melting point.
Modeling of meteorite impact
Takáč, Marian ; Kletetschka, Günther (advisor) ; Kohout, Tomáš (referee)
In Febuary 2013, in spectacular light and sound accompaintmen a meteorite hit the Russian Federation. Small fragment which landed in populated areas caused together with blust wave damage. The largest part broke the ice crust on the lake in outskirts of Chebarkul. The circular shaped hole gave rise to various conspiracy theories. About half of the year after impact the meteorite was lifted and conspiracy theories boken. The event immediately raised interest in the issue of the impacts of meteorites and phenomena associated with them. Processes when the meteor is passing trough atmosphere, impact craters, their origin and characteristics, computer models, types of meteorites and their origin. Or just a mystery of the hole in the ice crust of the lake Chebarkul. Science has got answers for such toppics. This paper is just trying to summarize them.

Žihla, Zdeněk ; Fiala, Miloš (advisor) ; Vilášek, Josef (referee)
Title: Rescue interventions in winter and on ice Objectives: The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to solve and describe the interventions of rescuers on frozen water levels and specifically the analysis of work on ice, including possible risks and dangers threatening the performance. Methods: The methods used to gather essential information on rescuers' interventions on the frozen surface were carried out through a survey of study sources, available literature and the subsequent processing of the search. Results:Description of rescuers' interventions on frozen water levels, description of the means used in interventions and description of possible risks and dangers. Keywords: intervention, lifeguard, ice, winter, rescue
Experimental research of fluids against icing of overhead wires
Málek, Jan ; Polach, Pavel (referee) ; Galas, Radovan (advisor)
In this thesis, commercially available anti-icing fluids were tested. A methodology of assessment was designed for the effect of anti-icing fluids on the rapidity of ice growth and its development over time. These tests were conducted on a device constructed for the purpose of the thesis. The solutions were tested for their effect on the ice adhesion to a contact wire. The effect of the solutions on the tribological behaviour of the collector strip and contact wire was described. The experiments were supplemented by mensuration of the size of the contact angle of the solutions on the copper surface. However, these fluids anti-icing effect is relatively short-term. On the contrary, the thesis shows that even a small amount of anti-icing solution on the surface of the contact wire can help to significantly lower the ice adhesion.
